HI Swinstie - hope you have a great time! I also watched numbers! Generally if the 2 men in my life (OH and DS) don't like an outfit there is a reason - so yes I will take the dress back.... I think it is lovely - and it is - but unfortunately until or unless I lose some weight it does take more effort (careful choice of outfit) to look good and this might not be the one for me!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

it's lovely to go on a shopping spree isn't it? I'm going dress shopping for my friend's wedding tomorrow with dd-hopefully i find something nice. Agree with you taking the dress back-if you're unsure you will never wear it. I've just clocked your £10 a day challenge total-how impressive is that-i've made a paltry £30 since march! i'm inspired now!HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

HI Beck - hope you get something nice for your friend's wedding! The £10 a day challenge - you really can earn decent money if you put your effort in. I found it easier at the beginning in that I have now done most of the free trials with cashback! I need to actually sell some stuff to boost this month's figure... We'll see if I do!
Hope everyone has a great day! DS on a playdate already, OH being taken by a friend to football - bought and paid for by them, so just have DD to entertain just now!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi MrsC I have been naughty spending wise but nowhere near on the same scale as your friend. Took the dress back but did buy some other things instead. We do have enough money to pay for them for now anyway.
If I don't get the job Tuesday I am going to be very upset I think. Have upped the game appearance wise with hair cut, new top, necklace, shoes and bag (half price in the sale) (oops, double whoops) but if I get the job it will be a good investment. If I don't well I can use them just for interviews until I finally land the job and then for work thereafter!
I need to get on with prep for Tuesday now. But they do reckon that people make a decision at interview within the first 2 minutes so I want to look the part too! It is a panel interview of 3 Tuesday, with the first task being a presentation. Hardly any questions but advised to give answers of approx 7 mins each!!! Need to try and make every answer count and make answers as structured as poss!
Oh well I suppose I had better turn the tv off and get on with it:rolleyes:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Mrs C and Lurkers esp Skint Spice!:T
- just popped back to see if anyone had posted! I've been good - [STRIKE]1 hour[/STRIKE] 2 hours and 50 minutes of prep done! Shame I have barely scratched the surface! I am still on the presentation - it can only be 5 minutes long - but I need to make each of those minutes count. In some ways it is much easier to do a longer presentation. As it is I need to work out what is I am trying to say and then decide how best to condense it.
I have also been told what the key areas are they intend to ask questions on in the interview so I am hoping that the prep I am doing at the mo will assist in answering them too....!
I feel a bit more positive today - partly because of what the agency said about having come from 90 people down to the last 3 and the possibility that if I don't get Tuesday's job it isn't necessarily the end of the line and that I might still get a job offer from them at some future point! I need to be as positive about it as poss so I come across right at interview - need that passion and enthusiasm on show as it were which can be difficult. My natural reaction to stress is to become detatched and talk much more slowly which generally is NOT a good idea at interview!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

All this prep will pay off for you in the long run, SH. Good luck with the interview on Tuesday.
It might be worth you spending a few mins with your eyes closed, running through the "perfect pitch" in your mind - visualisation can really make a difference. Try it over the weekend - and you will be able to see where you have "room for improvment" so you can then watch it again in your mind until it is perfect perfect perfect......then, the "real thing" seems a whole lot easier because mentally you have already done it (if that makes sense!).Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. hi sh
in the good old days i used to do loads on presentations, and would practice every day so i knew exactly what screen would come up before it was displayed. we used to do 20 min presentations of hr software but same principles can be applied here. practice until you can do it with eyes close as hypno says.
best of luck being 3 out of 90 is so impressive!
