Hi karen! Glad that you are making progress too! I will check out your diary later.

Hope all my other readers are okay! Picked the kids up from school. DS some how talked me into letting a friend come over but I went and had a lie down anyway. I had a splitting headache - but I've had a coffee, a rest and now had my tea and am feeling better!

Tea: Tacos, mince beef, cheese, salad, sour cream and salsa sauce - gorgeous! The seasoning was dated 2003! but we couldn't tell the difference so ate it anyway LOL!

Dinner sounds fab and reminds me that I'm making enchiladas tonights so need to pick up some ingredients - better check the dates, LOL

Hi Swinstie - thanks for bothering to catch up!:A

I have just done the maths test. I hope I got most of the answers right - however I only answered just over half of the questions - so it is the hands of the gods or in this case the employer! Would they prefer slow but accurate or quicker but more wrong... who knows  Good luck with the test if you do try it! At least I can relax for a bit now it is what it is

Hi too to purpletea thanks for dropping by :T

    Temptation time now tho....

    Do I

    a) go out somewhere and spend £
    b) have lunch and then do the household chores or
    c) have lunch and relax?

    Hmmm I don't know.

I have worked out tho that if we managed to stay around our current reduced spend rate then if I get a job soon I should still be able to pay off our debts by my target date (b4 my 40th  birthday next year!). My goal as I have written on sun addict's thread is to then have a big celebration of our 40ths - we both turn 40 the same year. We were considering doing a party but we are now considering a trip to say Disneyland Florida with the kids instead.... Now that is what I call motivating :rotfl:I have worked out that if interest rates stayed the same even after our holiday - if we threw the same money at our mortgage as we have been doing at our debt then we could be mortgage free by the time we are 50!:j That would be absolutely amazing! So guys feel free to help me stay on track!

Keep seeing all this stuff about overpaying mortgages savingholmes, do you ask the bank to take more money? Think I might do that once my debts are paid, cos my mortgage is the size of a largish loan (only £31K).

Oh and I would have lunch and relax - bliss!

    Hi Swinstie

To overpay your mortgage you do need to read your Ts and Cs - some only allow you to overpay up to a certain % a year. I think that is just when you are on a fixed rate tho but am not sure. We can overpay by 10% a year while on a fixed rate I think and unlimited thereafter. We are currently on an interest only mortgage so it would be great to actually pay off some of the capital. I think there is a whole mortgage free wannabees board.... like the dfw one....

I have just had lunch baked potato, salad, left over mince from last night with salsa and sour cream - yum! :j I think I am going to be naughty tho and nip out and buy some secateurs for my garden...:p All of mine are broken or missing. Then I can spend some time sorting out my garden and relaxing while doing it. In between picking up the kids from school. Absolutely NO play dates today tho - I must remain firm (mutters to self like a mantra)!

Bye for now hope you all have a good day!

Last year the warm weather in April was our only summer! So yeah we should make the most of it while we can. So why don't I like this warm glowing thing then (otherwise known as being warm and sweaty)!

Well picked the kids up, escaped any play dates but the kids are currently fighting over icecream in the kitchen. Oh the things I will miss when I am back at work  (not)! Got my daily exercise (half a mile each way)! I'm exhausted just from that (and the gardening). Is that how you know you're unfit :rotfl:?

Topped up the water for the fish and tadpoles again, it is only a shallow pond and seems to evaporate very quickly. I've emptied other garden bin bags into our garden bin and between that and what I've done this afternoon it is almost full again. A very virtuous feeling! :T Shame there's so much left to do :rotfl:

Oh well bye again for now....

  • G'day diary buddies!

I am busy catching up on diaries and am now wondering if I should have popcorn to help keep my energy up as diary reading can be pretty full on!

Must say I have troughed like a wee swine lately. One evening I had a full bag of Sensations to myself for my tea. Didnt even overly rate the flavour - Balsamic Vinegar & Caramelized Onions. Sounds like it should be gaawgeous. In fact, was not. Felt slightly disappointed by Walkers. Maybe I should have sent packet back to them and complained (empty packet of course as wouldnt be right to not give every single crisp the opportunity to prove my tastebuds wrong).

I may even finish off the box of After Eight Mints too.....

    *must stop thinking about food*

SH - pleased to hear no playdates. Well done on the exercise.

Like you, once our Debts are gone, then it will be the mortgage.
