    Hi Savingholmes

Have seen you in Missymoo's and Jellie's diaries and thought I'd pop over to yours...

On the job hunting front, please try not to give up as my OH has been unemployed for 2 years bar two months but starts a new job on Monday and was offered two other interviews this week as well...hope springs eternal. Hope thibgs pick up for you soon.
hi chris - thanks for popping along. I know I need to apply for new jobs but have a host of excuses why I'm not LOL

What did the Dr say yesterday? How are work being now?
Work were ok yesterday. I feel less paranoid about work now than I did a week or so ago. :o My doctor keeps checking to see if I had an x-ray - she seems really surprised that my knee is so swollen without being broken  She thinks it has improved this week and that it should improve next week too.

I need to go and buy some more co-codamol - I have now run out and can't survive without it now I have tried it :o In theory I could send OH in practice I think I would get seriously grumped at

Supposedly OH is going out on his bycycle today - I wonder if that will happen. DS is also supposed to be fixing his bike with OH so he can go out too. They are out later to go to a youth event.

OH had to take his motorbike for a new tyre today - £149 down  - roughly equivalent to the council tax we don't pay in Feb so hopefully things will work out ok.

Really missing the confused and roll eyes smilies!

Hope everyone else reading is okay! Want to try and avoid going out if poss - or perhaps only take cash to minimise spending potential!:money:

SH the lighter nights are defo on the way - it was virtually light as I left work at about 10 to 5 last night - it was only a few weeks ago that we were playing out at the afterschool club with torches at 4 o'clock, which the children loved!!

You will know when the time to apply for a new job is right for you - if you are feeling stressed by it put it on a back burner until you are ready to make that decision.

Just carry on being good to yourself - what about planting a few seeds too on your windowledges whilst you're off - it always gives me a boost to see them sprouting and knowing it won't be long until they get out in the garden in the better weather which is only around the corner.

    Pooh to the new tyre.

    Take care

Glad work ok and that Dr thinks you're improving. I'm sure all that driving in the snow must have aggravated it!

It is for a BMW motorbike - that we were GIVEN!:money:and OH's main ride to work.

    Hi Jellie et al

Well spent quite a quiet day. Went to church this morning. Slept for about 4 hours this afternoon thereby having an NSD, and sorted washing this evening! Binning loads of socks :rotfl:Did manage to match some which was good but there is still a pile which if they are not matched when I have finished this week's washing will be going in the bin!

sorted a few more things for charity - while sorting the washing. OH commented on how smart I looked the other day - I told him this book (on organising) said to only keep things that you felt good in - he said good! :T I was glad it was working!

I am wondering whether I need to go back to cash for everything other than petrol to try and reduce overspend. It would mean I would get less cashback vouchers but may mean I manage to majorly cut back my spending which is kind of necessary.

I have been trying icepack treatments on my knee to try and get the swelling down. I will let you know later in the week if it seems to have much impact. I was having muscle twitching above my knee earlier which I don't think is a positive sign!

It doesn't look like work has paid me yet again - (this is from before I went off sick) So naffed off! My umbrella company send me a text to let me know when I am going to be paid at least 24 hours before - but nothing.... I should be paid tomorrow.

I really need to contact work re my pay... Think will do it by email! So annoyed!

Knee seemed fractionally less swollen today - so think the ice packs are making a difference, so need to keep that up.

Really want to get house straighter - but without damaging knee - difficult balance!

Need to check my bank again see how we are doing. Got a childcare bill today for £90 that I wrongly thought OH has already paid - very frustrating!

hope you all have a good day

    Hi SH,

Hope you are well - depite the knee! Sorry to hear about that, make sure you rest up easy. I know being at home and in theory resting it is easier said than done, especially when you can see so much or want to do so much with the house etc - be kind to yourself and take the the time to let it heal properly, then you'll be able to attack the house much better in time ;)

Had me a big clean and sort of our flat yesterday - took a big bag to the charity shop and now only have the washing to catch up on then done. It's so nice when you've done it so know why your probably itching to get it done whilst being off work! Made the most of OH not being at home this weekend to get it done, far easier when they are not there in the way :p

Must be frustrating re pay - hope you get it sorted very soon!

Now must get back on the money side of things and sorted so will be starting a log soon enough after i've caught up with everyone...

    Speak soon,

    K xx

Sorting pay for THIS TIME NEXT WEEK - that is so bad when you should have already had it.

Well done on a lesser cc spend - mine is just over £1000 - which is ok-ish considering it had a lot of unexpected spends and Christmas on it. Will pay it on Thursday which is payday but that will leave me with VERY little for the rest of the month - so will use card for everything and pay off again the following month - but the spend shouldn't be anything as bad as a grand. I have still actually got £150 in Morrisons vouchers which I forgot to take for my Christmas shop. Will see how using it for the rewards pan out over a few more normal months and if I find it too tempting will stop using it altogether again - we can but put these things to the test
