thanks cmd and verbatim - that's lovely!
I'm going to see a friend in a bit - a rarity these days with my long commute - hoping that I will feel a bit better in myself after that!
I have kind of been over-shopping recently in the grocery department so my freezer is full to the brim anyway! Financially it will be extremely hard if I give up my job but we would manage.... if we tried hard enough. Need to decide whether I want to do a balance transfer while still in work or not!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

A job is not worth unbalancing your life and mental health for. I would take the sick note, they have been completely unreasonable about your injury (and wasn't it at work as well?) so you owe them nothing. hi imd, sc, verbatim and milann
Thank you - you are all lovely. So nice to come in to! I am taking the sick note conscientious person that I am tho - I am debating whether or not to do a 20-30 minute piece of work to help one of my team..... It's not their fault.... I have also accidentally brought work home with me that I shouldn't have done if I am not in for a week - so don't know what to do about getting it back to them! I suppose I could always scan in any urgent stuff.
I think I have to focus on getting my knee (and arms) fit and healthy again. I am literally in no condition to go for an interview at the mo. The way I feel right now I would happily take in a lower pay job like in a shop or a bar - but with my knee even that kind of option is not available to me which is incredibly frustrating.
I am going to look into training again - as that might be something I could still do while I am off - and that might then open some new doors. The work I've been doing recently has been ultra depressing!
Financially we could survive a month or two reasonably easily I think, month 3 we would have to use savings... after that who knows?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi SavingH,
I can only echo what I said yesterday. I don't think any job is worth sacrificing your mental health for. It might be a better idea to take a lower paid job and retrain to something you love. At least the money would be coming in.
The place you are in at the moment sound very unsupportive

I'm glad you are going to use the sick note. I would say step away from the work you have took home but I know that's easier said than done and sometimes you can't rest until you have done what you feel you need to (if that makes sense).1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

hi cmd and imd and thanks - well I rang in. My boss didn't express any concern for me at all or what level of pain I was in - so not impressed. Not my problem now - except I am still electronically handing over work! I'd rather do it electronically than on the phone!
I don't intend to do the stuff I brought home with me - that is why I am kicking myself for bringing it home IYKWIM don't think there is anything urgent in it but who knows... or should I say right now who cares!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
