new jobs have also been affected by the snow!
The right job will turn up, its just a matter of holding on to sanity & maintaining your energy levels until it does!I do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
My OH has had a few calls re possible work this week for the first time in months. I also read that office space in london can no longer be haggled down. bit early to call "green shoots" but good signs surely????CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420

thanks lurker and verbatim - I agree the snow will have delayed things....
Yesterday I forgot to take my ibuprofen until I got home which meant that by the time I did my knee had swollen up quite a bit more, the skin was all tight etc and a lot more painful. Things like that aren't helping the situation either.... I also have an infection somewhere else that is nagging away at me and painful too - altho I am using the right medicine for that...
We've had more snow - but not enough to prevent me going to work - although more is due today...
I just need to work really hard at staying positive. I also need to get my !!! into gear as I don't want to be late again today! By for now all and have a positive and safe day. Thanks again for your support and encouragement!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I guess the snow didn't keep you at home then today. hope you're having a good day.
I'm sorry to hear your knee is still bad. Would you be able to negotiate more days working at home on account of this? It can't be aiding your recovery having to drive so long each day and it was their sloppy work practices that caused the accident. Would your doctor be happy to give you a note to that effect? Or perhaps it might make them cut your contract??CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
Sorry to hear knee is still bad. I'm sure the cold and time driving makes it worse.

hi jellie, verbatim, imd and csa - thanks very much for posting!
had a really bad day - cried several times including in front of my boss. Today I have had weird pains in my arms, my knee is really swollen etc. Work are completely unsupportive. I asked about working from home and it didn't receive a favourable response. I have been to the doctor and been given a sick note for a week. She will then review in a week. It buys me a bit of time to think about what I want to do too! They might finish my contract but at this stage that doesn't seem that important!
OH wants me to quit - he feels it is affecting my mental health. I think if I stayed I would have to increase my antidepressant dose which I don't want to do. I have been stable at my current dose for over 2 years.... a job isn't worth that!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Oh you poor thing. Have a virtual hug from me.
Have a sit down tonight and think about it. Can you manage financially if you quit and look for another job. If you can I would say quit. No job is worth increasing the dosage of anti-depressants.
I am thinking of you
