By the way, meant to say I loved 'PS I LOVE YOU'.....I read the book a few years back which I blubbered my way through (I'm a bit of a softy!) and then watched the film recently but didn't dare go to cinema as knew I would blubber my way through that too!0

I've just done some practice tests
maths 1 25/29 maths 2 19/27 maths 3 23/25 (mixed)
verbal 31/40 (normally really good at these so surprised)
speed accuracy 26/40 65% (found v hard)
maths 4 21/40 52% (found extremely hard)
Because they only let you practice on tests that are still in testing I don't know how I compare to others... Just have to hope that practice makes perfect... May have to do tests tomorrow - don't know yet!! (which is mad but there we go)Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hey SH,
How are you today? How'd the interview go?
On a well deserved lunch break...it's SO horrible going back to work after some time off. Still only one day to go tomorrow and a nice 4 day weekend and a girly night out Sat :j
Planning on a financial/life overhaul this weekend too - sitting down and re-evaluating everything and getting in order....oooh get me0 -
Hi Karen - glad you are staying on track!
Had the interview about 2.5 hours travel in all - I'm starving - nothing I want to eat in the house but daren't eat out again LOL!
I think the interview went okay from my side - do have some concerns about the job tho... If I could have any job in the world it wouldn't make the rankings if you know what I mean - but if it is the only job I manage to get then I could do it and be grateful for a while at least. I would get a car with it but would prefer yesterday's job.... They are planning to feedback to the agency tomorrow. If I got thro to the next round I would have another interviews plus maths and english tests to do - argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still got an interview tomorrow that I need to prepare for. I feel like I'm doing a series of exams and revising the night before...
I'm thinking of watching a dvd or something next to help make the switch from preparing for one possible job role to preparing for the next!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks SC this whole process is exhausting! I've started reading the website on tomorrow's job... At the moment that one is quite appealing as:
a) it is a one stage interview with an almost immediate start!
b) they would pay my travel to work :jwhich for this job would otherwise be over £75 per week:eek: so that is also a major plus. I would probably just have to pay car parking - about £15 per week
c) any travel on the job is normally by public transport so reduced stress and risk of accidents hopefully
d) it is short term initially but likely to go perm. It would be steady income - and some of these other jobs could take quite a few weeks to get to the point of making a job offer - even if it doesn't go perm it might last long enough to get job offers from some of the other organisations
3) I've looked at the employee benefits on line - it seems to have a great pension scheme etc
4) the pay would be more than I've been on previously too - more than today's interview and about the same or more than yesterday's. Not quite as good as the interview a couple of weeks ago but that has gone disturbingly quiet currently:eek:
5) It would mean our savings could stay as savings and be used off the debt sooner rather than later
6) If I got it OH has promised I can get more help around the house :Teven if we pay for it :rotfl:
The last point is possibly the clincher.... No pressure then. I'm not sure how many people are being interviewed tomorrow but hopefully not too many..... I hate this waiting bit!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi all well that was almost a complete waste of a day! I didn't get the job but they didn't take the other person they interviewed either....
I am quite philosophical about the one today tho - esp as it was only for 3 months initially. I think that it would have been long hours, good pay but busy, busy, busy all the time.
Still don't know about yesterday's job either....
An agency rang me on the train about a couple of jobs they are recruiting for and they would like to meet me again. I will try and sort it out next week.
I am however looking forward to having a few days off with the kids as I've not seen them since Monday! I don't want to have been off work and still not really got to see them...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

As they say C'est La Vie. What will be will be.
The most annoying thing is that you feel like you have wasted a ton of prep time in swotting up for the appt. Better to be prepared than have to pull some lame response out of a hat.
Have a much deserved weekend with your little people, or not so little. No doubt the weather will be rubbish!
