I made a similar list after my first year on MSE - it definitely reminded me of how far I had come, even if it sometimes felt as though I had made no progress!

HI all thanks for the encouragement

Well MIL loved the dinner and her pressie - so much so she has only just left!

Unfortunately it looks like I may have washed the cheque OH received yesterday - hope I'm wrong but don't think I am !

Just realised that my undelivered parcel from the other day must have been the photo mug I ordered for MIL for xmas - hope I manage to pick it up before they send it back!

Feel like I've spent most of the weekend tidying or preparing for MIL's visit. House nice and tidy downstairs - but that kind of "false" tidy where you can't find anything afterwards!

Hope you all have a good week. Looks like OH's BB may have finished too - I will check again tomorrow to make sure!

  • That list is very impressive and encouraging. Think I will have to make one when I have been active for 12 months. I am rubbish at the £10 a day and my resolution is to put more thought into that!

Glad your MIL enjoyed the present and dinner and rightly so :)

    Hi guys

Well I have that horrible Monday morning feeling! Need to get myself in gear and get out the door asap...

    Still haven't found the cheque....

Ideally need to persuade a friend with a very large car that they want to take me to ikea to buy DS's bed and mattress - I don't think it will fit in mine. I used to do them that kind of favour before they had a car so hoping they will oblige.... xmas time is always busy for everyone tho.

My MIL passed on some cast offs yesterday - mainly for a friend of mine - but I am keeping one of them which is a long cardigan with cashmere in it.... Looks lovely - and where I work is freezing. I washed it last night (and afterwards read it was professional dry clean only) and put it in the airing cupboard overnight as I wanted to wear it today..... Doesn't seem quite dry enough yet which is disappointing.... Will go and give it another check in a min...

Hope you all have the best Monday you can!

Oh was similar - he couldn't get out of the bed at all

Hope your day goes quickly and hopefully your friend will oblige with the car.

Put the cardigan in the drier for a bit despite it being dry clean only - and wore it anyway.

Have cried a few times today! Not helped by the fact it is the wrong time of the month!

    1) I didn't get paid - and have had to sort all that out. Won't get it now until next week. I am soooooooooo disappointed and I cried at work over that.

    2) I got home to find out that:

    a) OH had been called out of work again - this time because DD had had a little accident at the after school club

    b) DS has ripped his only remaining pair of school trousers (he started the term with 3!) and I've been looking for more trousers but there are none available in his size locally at the mo! So I've told him he will have to go to school with ripped trousers.

    c) we missed a payment of £2 on a credit card!

You know when something just tips the balance.... and you cry and then you struggle to stop - that's how I feel right now...

Money-wise we can cope waiting a week but I'm still so gutted and upset

Sorry you had such a rubbish day. I know how much you were looking forward to getting that pay cheque. Maybe head to bed early with a hot chocolate and a magazine and things will seem better in the morning.

My OH had a rubbish day today too but after some comfort food he feels better.
