Hi SH i didnt know you were penning a book . well done you, DH started a book years ago never got further than 3 pages :rotfl:. i would love to read it. (yours that is!)

good luck with the interviews , the right thing has to be out there somewhere, and with all your hard work and diligence you are bound to find it soon

I cant believe you have so much done for xmas already! I do have a couple of small presents for 2 aunts and thats it. I have so many birthday presents to buy in oct and nov ( including both DD's) and havent started on those yet. DD2 wants a couple of guinea pigs and I am really not sure about it ( I think she has persuaded her dad though:rolleyes:) but I havent got any other ideas for her .

    hope you're ok x

Sounds easy, what is passata though? Hot chocolate, what a weird ingredient, have seen a recipe using coffee right enough but never been brave enough to try it. Have never tried quorn mince either, ok going to the supermarket tomorrow so will get mince, hot chocolate and passata (when I find out what it is)! Thanks SH
Passata is kind of pureed tomato in a box. In Asda you can get it for about 40p - it makes everything look a lot nicer - kind of more professional. You don't have to use quorn - I do just to lower the calorie count.... You could just swap normal mince beef for it. The meal should add up to arround 440 calories each for 4 people including about 30-40g of brown rice per person. I sometimes add a small onion and/or mushrooms and/or mixed peppers (usually frozen less waste)!

Thanks SC if the book ever gets finished I will let you know. I've never got past page 1 before. This time I consciously started at chapter 4! :rotfl:

I have bought £1 Kilner jars from Asda (a special type of metal hinge and air tight seal) about 16 of them :rotfl:and divided tins of quality street, heros, orange segsations between them. They were on buy one get one free last week in Tescos! I also managed to get a 1kg bag of haribo mallows for 99p at Home and Bargain and have filled about 5 jars with those. Debenhams last year were selling jars like that for £10 and they were selling! Mine cost about £1.20 for the mallow and probably about £3.50 for the chocolate ones! So pretty much everyone in the family is getting one or more of them this year. Plus other wrap ups that were in the house or freebies I have picked up.

I managed to get a photo frame with the word Memories cut out inside it for £2.99 in Home and Bargains - so I bought a couple of them for people I want to make more of an impression on LOL. That together with recycled gifts takes care of a lot of people. The hardest to sort out tho are my parents -altho I warned them they might not get anything and my MIL....

Asda are doing loads of littlest pet shop stationary at half price (for my DD) - so I got a stationary set for £1.50, a little paint and crayone set for 50p, a massive pencil for 50p - a few weeks ago they did the pets for £1 each instead of £2 so I bought 3. I got a bratz doll half price for about £5 with a little monkey. She is also getting a barbie with the dog that can walk which was £10 off in Tesco at about £15. So that with books, hair slides, freebies etc that I already had is xmas for her finished.... Plus of course a jar of mallows.... I don't think there will be a chocolate jar spare (if there is it might end up in my pile LOL!)

Got another £5 amazon voucher tonight from bp - should be able to use towards xmas too - probably for OH!

I am planning to get a day bed for DS tho which I reckon with the mattress will end up at about £120  but I really want to get him one. It is his birthday just after xmas so will be a joint present. I have got him some wrap ups for xmas, he will probably get jars of sweeties and choccies for example so I expect he will be happy!

Well today I have a meeting about some youth work I am involved in - hopefully just for an hour or so

Then hopefully either tidy up or do a bit more on my novel

Pick up kids from school and take DD to a party

What's anyone else got planned today?

Well they get what they are given - it is up to them whether or not they choose to be grateful. My DD will be made up with her pressies and my DS is happy with a bed for xmas and birthday bless! It will make his bedroom more social, more "cool".

One of my sis is long term sick, another is unemployed like me, one is abroad but trying to come home and will be skint and my brother owns his own business and is weathering the recession but not doing as well as he would like. My BIL is doing extremely well but understands that we are not.... So pride is the only problem I think for me rather than reality....

Hope you and Sal both have a good day!
