  • My £129 cheque arrived today - will need to put in the bank Monday!

Also got offered another 0% balance transfer cheeque until next May. Thinking of writing a cheque to ourselves and then putting it in the bank. That way we have cheap emergency money in case we need it for a lot less than a normal CC would cost! We'd missed the original deadline of 14 Sept so thought that was it - but they sent another offer today!

Might be a good idea. It will take the pressure off and when you get a job then you can just re-transfer it.

  • Thanks guys.

I think we will write that cheque to ourselves. Just need to decide how much for now. I am thinking around £4k...

Met an agency today but it felt like a waste of time.

Signed on - they were nice - but still felt horrible and depressing.

Had a nice time with the kids - OH was out most of the night

Am now up to about 9000 words on my novel so it is coming along.....

Hope everyone else is okay and thanks again for posting!

  • Well my novel is still coming along.

I met my OH for lunch - sweet but it set us back £22!!! Ouch. At least we didn't have to pay a babysitter tho.

Went belly dancing again - it was a bit more fun this week altho I am still extremely uncoordinated. A friend looked after my DD for me while I went so I had a coffee and a chat with her afterwards.

I am feeling a bit hopeless this week - so for now I am trying to focus on my novel to cheer myself up! Just hope it works. OH and kids are great tho so I have lots to be grateful for really. We still have nice food on the table and a nice house... Have started to worry about the long term prospects of keeping the house if I don't get a jobs soon... Just have to hope I get sorted well before that. We are still keeping up with all our payments at the mo....

Well today I have walked to town and back as well as to school and back so I reckon I've walked about 4 miles - pleased with that.

Had a telephone interview for a job - should find out if I am through to the next stage tomorrow

I have now sorted out nearly half my christmas presents including all of my DD's.

My DS is taking part in the open evening at his new school in the Maths class!!!

My DD is going to a party tomorrow - but luckily already had lots of pressies in my pressie box for that age group....

    Hope everyone else is well!

Good luck with the job hunting and book. Your diary is an inspiring read so hopefully your book will be the same!

Thanks Jellie for posting and for your kind words. :T What brought you to MSE?

Well I've made chilli con carne for tea - hopefully OH and DS will like it. Slightly different recipe.

Need to go to open evening shortly, then will try and write some more of my book.

I need to take a leaf out of fly lady's book and try to tackle all the "homeless" items lying around the house - and find them a place or chuck them out....

Hope everyone is okay? Any posters out there - you are more than welcome? I'm sure lurking is fab but it is much more encouraging when you post!

Sounds easy, what is passata though? Hot chocolate, what a weird ingredient, have seen a recipe using coffee right enough but never been brave enough to try it. Have never tried quorn mince either, ok going to the supermarket tomorrow so will get mince, hot chocolate and passata (when I find out what it is)! Thanks SH
