  • Like a fool i have just cleaned the bathroom in my lovely new black cardigan and i have managed get bleach on it and it now has a lovely red mark on it.

Is there anyway of getting it out? I have it currently soaking in a bowl of water with some washing powder in but i don't think this will work.

    Any Advice??

    Cheers

Rinsing the garment will get rid of the bleach, but unfortunately, it's taken away the blue dye :o There's not much you can do about that other than dye over it, sorry.

I'll add this to a recent thread we had on the same subject to give you more ideas.

I put some bleach on a white top & vest to remove stains, but forgot about it :o. Stains have gone but the whole area on both tops has gone yellow. Is there anything I can do (have tried washing them). Would putting in the sun help?

    Thanks.

Dont think anything will help now I,m afraid. Bleach will only work properly on anything that is 100% cotton.
You could try a thing called colour run remover at any supermarket.

Failing that dye them a darker colour.

I did this to one of my tops a few months ago and tried everything to get the yellow marks out. Unfortunately I ended up throwing it away.

  • While cleaning today I splashed my t shirt with bleach. Am I right in thinking that even if i dye it, it wont cover the bleach marks?

yep - youre right sorry - what colour is it? if its dark even re-dying it might not work. I did that to some t shirts - actually i manage to get bleach on lots of things i am wearing even when i am sure i never even touched the bleach. for tshirts i normally just splash more bleach on or tiedye it - i may only wear it for casual round the house but at least it looks better. If its light a couple of hot washes may fix the prob as the colour fades.

If it's black and a tiny spot I have used a permanent marker before, but it needs re-touching every few washes. If any bigger than a spot then it prob would look a bit dodgy though. :D
