paypal dispute item not received - buyer left feedback saying it'd been delivered!?!?

Hiya,
Wondering if any of you guys can help me.
I listed a game on ebay a week or so ago for the xbox 360 in auction format. I had an email from a lady asking for a buy it now price, so for a quick sale I changed it to a buy it now of £18 plus 3 delivery (wasn't greedy as the game sold for between 18 and 24 typically by using a completed search).
She paid straight away and I posted the next morning. I posted with first class (not recorded and not "signed for"....the lady at post office did write down the postcode it went to on the receipt for what its worth?)
A few days later I received positive feedback saying "excellent ebay,A+ communication, quick delivery..thankyou" So this actually confirms that she did indeed receive the item. Naturally I responded with positive feedback also
It's now 3 days since receiving the feedback. I have just had an email about an hour or so ago from paypal saying she has filed a claim saying item not received and saying "have had no contact from seller saying when its going to be sent and wheres the item or if can have a full refund"!!!
Naturally, I'm livid! How can they even allow this to happen when they've already confirmed receipt?
I've replied almost immediately saying it was indeed sent out, and that I emailed her the day before saying it would indeed be sent, and even gave the time on my post office receipt that it was dispatched.
I've been trying to do some searching on google etc, and a lot of older information on there etc, but it does appear to be, from what I'm reading, that I'm up sierra creek if she continues with the claim, and that paypal will not even acknowledge that she confirmed receipt by actually saying it was delivered quickly in her feedback she left.
Does anyone know where I might stand with this? I still have the receipt of posting the item itself, even though it was like I said, only sent first class, but the lady wrote the postcode on.
What makes it more annoying was how friendly the person was during the sale....AND she lives in the next town to me. I was even tempted at the time to just drive it over there instead of posting. NOW I'm tempted to drive over there and "discuss the transaction".
I've emailed her direct through ebay also aswell as via the paypal dispute for her to give me information, with as of yet obv no reply.....makes me wonder if I should even hint to her the fact that I do live CLOSE to her...but dont want to come across as threatening despite how I feel at this current point in time.
Hope you guys can help,
Tuck

If the buyer posted feedback, then that is an acknowledgement as good as a receipt, isn't it?0

thats what I would have thought too - but from googling it, I seem to have read a couple of incidents where people have also had similar incidents where they had said item arrived perfectly and suchlike - but still had to go thru paypal and lost because of no proof of delivery (even if sending recorded delivery).
Was thinking perhaps the cunning behind leaving early feedback would be that positive feedback would be left in return - meaning nothing negative could be writted after the claim.
In the meantime I have tried contacting a few of the people she has previously bought from from her ebay history to see if she's tried it on with them at all.....but most of these items are around the £5 mark so probably not enough for her to have bothered with0 -
feedback has no bearing on a pp dispute
have you contacted the buyer?
you cannot leave any form of negative FB for a buyer0 -
Is it possible that they have bought more than one game on eBay, and left feedback on yours by mistake? I used to buy a lot of DVD's and did on occasion leave feedback for the wrong person.
I personally wouldn't worry about it though, just refund the buyer and claim for loss via Royal Mail, because they could genuinely be telling the truth, and like me in the past, left feedback in error. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

Nope, it may well pay you to read up on paypal policy if you are a newbie as the terms and conditions and requirements are quite clear.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree with you here and along the same lines the buyer might have opened a dispute with the wrong seller.
If they don't reply to the e-mail I would request their contact details from e-ay and give them a call.
Stay calm and polite and ask if they have indeed got the wrong seller. If they have got the wrong seller they need to know this. If they haven't got the wrong seller and it turns out they left you feedback by mistake and not received your item at all you might as well refund them and use your receipt/proof of posting to claim from RM.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
thanks everyone.
mini-panic over with.
the lady replied to me a little earlier, and was very apologetic....saying she was originally trying to raise a dispute with someone else, it had put my ebay list info to which she'd removed but obv not properly.
I'd been reading on claiming with post office too. I didnt actually realise that with regular first class posting (having the receipt of posting) that I could claim up to about £38 worth, so that might have had to been my route taken, but gladly it's all resolved now and she has closed the case.0 -

ALWAYS send recorded delivery no exceptions , dont expect royal mail to pay up for non delivery with out hassle , they are now asking for conformation from buyer they did not recieve the item , which is ok if true and you have a good buyer , But if the buyer is a scam artist loads now adays , some are even blatent about it , they wont reply to RM and you wont have anything .You dont even have the option of neg feedback now , when you know you have been scammed,0 -

I have no problem at all with RM paying up and i'm not sure how paying an extra 72p from your profit for every item actually helps as the claiming requirements are exactly the same.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You cant leave a buyer neg feedback??? When did that happen, it seems like a terrible idea. Am i misunderstanding this? I used to sell on ebay and was considering starting again, but if thats the case i dont think i will.0
