    Wow- what a day.
Congrats to all PADers- particularly those who've cleared debts or are now debt free!
My PAD today is another £3. Chipping away. This thread is really helping me throw everything I can spare at my debts so that I am paying off more than I've budgeted for at the moment so thanks for all the support

Hey Paul - I work for an Insurance Company (don't boo hiss me too much) and I think that's a really logical argument. I'm not in the life and health sector but I would send the complaint straight off to the Chief Execs office. It cuts out about three levels of complaint in my company and they get looked at quickly. All insurance companies have been tasked by the FSA in dealing with customer complaints quickly and fairly - mention the words "FSA state that you have an overiding duty of Treating Customers Fairly" in your letter as thats a massive FSA workstream (have a look on the FSA website) - and it will make them take notice. Hope you get a result !

Thanks for your input Andy. No boo hissing from me. We've all got to earn a living as best we can. I don't even have issues with taxmen or debt collectors so long as they carry out their work fairly.
Although there's no way I can prove the stuff about fixed premium/fixed benefits (and I must admit that I don't recall the exact wording from so far back) I certainly feel that I have reasonable cause for complaint regarding my premium going up even though I do not have unemployment cover. I will use the complaints procedure just to be a pain the the rear even if I don't think I will succeed because I feel that such companies deserve to have thorns stuck in their sides.
