Thanks, will leave those at the moment!
Can someone help with bbq food? Are there any other sausages than morrisons own brand healthy ones (can't remember exact name) that are free of syns on a extra easy day? I'm going to a bbq tomorrow and planning on taking my own food to stop any syns slipping in, I'm saving them for the alcohol!
Just deciding what to take tomorrow, am planning on taking a tub of virt fat free fromage frais with 42g half fat cheese (hea) with spring onions and chives mixed in as a dip
Thanks for your help
Sorry I wasn't on yesterday to see this post, but in the future, how about making your own burgers from extra lean steak mince? You can flavour them with any herbs, chilli, onion, garlic etc etc and you know exactly whats gone into them :T
Other free foods for bbq can include vegetable kebabs, jacket spuds (prob bake them beforehand and war, through in foil for convenience) corn on the cob and spicy baked beans made with a tin or 2 of baked beans with a squirt of tom puree (negligible syns) and chilli powder, great for a wet side dish when everything else is burnt to a cinderalso saves syns on butter)
Oh and don't forget salad and HM coleslaw :T
Yummy: I want a bbq now!0 -
Well I thought i'd best join this little clan as I am joining my first slimming world class this evening and figure the more support the better!
I've tried WW in the past and lost what I needed to lose but fell into the comfy zone and voila here I am 2 stone heavier (and then some!)
Quite looking forward to going actually (although perhaps not the scales!)

How is it mis-using them as long as you dont eat them excessively?
Our consultant used to swear by these a few years ago!
To answer you and wannabedebtfree - Food optimising (the SW plans) evolve and change as new information becomes available. Ready meals, tinned foods etc are always being 'bettered' (according to the manufacturer) and therefore the syns and nutritional values will vary accordingly.
Free foods are meant to be the basis of a healthy, nutritious meal - this is why they can be eaten in unlimited quantities. Properly used, they will be filling and thus sate your appetite.
Take potatoes for example. A jacket potato, filled with baked beans and eaten with a side salad, is a perfectly healthy and filling main meal. The same potato, sliced thinly and made into "syn-free" crisps, would hardly fill a hollow tooth!!
It's fine to have a few now and then, but the problems arise when members find that they're spending more and more time eating these supposedly syn-free snacks to the detriment of healthy meals. Once on that slippery slope it's not usually long before the weight starts to creep back on and the member starts to think that SW doesn't really work.
The only rule we have is to follow the plan 100% - your weight loss is then guaranteed by Slimming World.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

How's you grand child?
Well done on your journey to date. I know how frustrating it can be, but a set loss each week is not really normal. Most of us lose at different rates each week because our bodies can hold onto extra fluid occasionally, we have hormonal fluctuations etc, etc.
The best suggestion I can make is to expect 1lb a week and be extra delighted if you get more, lol. Eat as many free foods as you need to keep yourself full, drink as much water as you can (I'm always pushing for 2½ litres a day) and try to use as many SS foods as possible.
Don't be impatient, the weight didn't all pile on in a matter of weeks, you shouldn't reasonably expect it to come off that fast, but it will come off if you follow the plan 100% (I promise).
Our little Grandson is absolutely gorgeous (not that I'm biased you understand). He's 7 months old now and a delight to be with. Thanks for asking and giving me chance to boastI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Well have done two days now and sticking to the plan okay. Its quite difficult getting your head round the extra esay plan when you have been used to red and green days as my brain keeps saying no you can't have those potatoes/pasta/rice etc with meat a you are using too many Healthy B's . guess I was a wee bit more indoctrinated with the plan that I thought lol.
Am weighing in on Thursday morning so a short week start for me but then it will be a weekly weigh in.
So cool to hear how everyone else is getting on and for the tips and advice.0 -
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! and please don't panic.
Personally, I think if you're feeling hungry you must be doing something wrong. The beauty of Slimming World, in my opinion, is that there is no need to go hungry......... ever. Do you mainly follow Red/Green/Extra Easy? Are you clear on all the plans? Have you tried using the website, this is a mine of info? What about looking through some Slimming World mags they usually have examples of menus etc.? Also think about contacting your consultant if you're really struggling, thats what they are there for. If you want to be a bit more specific about the problems you're having we'll try and help, we;re a friendly bunch and there is no such thingas a stupid question on here!
I have been trying to do green but now thinking of swapping cos of being hungry! Im not into cous cous and all healthy things that you always see on other peoples checkouts and think how bad urs looks!.
