....Breakfast was crispy chicken skin as I skinned aload of chicken thighs to put in the slow cooker......

Ooh pink princess, how did you do that? I always skin my chicken when I slow cook it and have always thought what a waste it was to just chuck the skin away especially when it's gorgeous when crisp!

For those of you wondering about the dreaded/loved booze, from:-

    http://www.leangains.com/search?q=drinking+spirits

" * Good choices of alcohol include dry wines which are very low carb, clocking in at about 0.5-1 g per glass (4 fl oz/115ml). Sweet wines are much higher at 4-6 g per glass. Cognac, gin, rum, scotch, tequila, vodka and whiskey are all basically zero carbs. Dry wines and spirits is what you should be drinking, ideally. Take them straight or mixed with diet soda. (No need to be super-neurotic about this stuff. Drinks should be enjoyed after all. Just be aware that there are better and worse choices out there)."

Morning everyone, what's in your LC lunch boxes today? :D
I have 2oz brie with a big salad and 2 peaut butter blobs (they were too soft to hold a ball shape!). Off to make some... eggs (as usual) for brekkie. Have a good day all!
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:
  • Morning all :)

Another lb put on so I'm actually a lb heavier than last week :o Think it was the wine-fest rather than the carb-fest that's caught up with me this weekend :o Should have drank neat vodka ;)

I'm not sure if I'm carrying on with LCing this week?? Maybe for a couple more days to finish off my LC goodies  I won't write my menu plan down though, just in case

Hope everyone else sticking with it, I'll still be reading :p

    Happy LC days :)

    Morning Peeps

well the crisps bit the dust late last night helped along with more guinness,
I`m planning on sticking with it today and i`ll have another drinky tonight. Tomorrow night we`re off out with friends so more boozing then.

I`ll be back on the wagon completely in a couple of weeks so i`m not going to worry myself about it as this is my holiday after all.

Brekkie will be scramblies and mushrooms - maybe either bacon or sausage too.

Dinner will be cold meat and pickles and tea will be a lc version of thai green curry. I was going to thaw out some cauli rice to have with mine but i`ve a fresh cauli that needs eating so i`ll probably just have lumps of that maybe with grated cheese on top :D

Today i will be mostly painting and cleaning, i have to go to the docs for that horrible ladies exam in a couple of hours and after that the day is mine. DH is off for the next couple of days too so i need to get as much done as poss whilst i've got help. The kitchen door can be taken down and planed today as i`ve been needing to do that for ages but needed someone to help me with it.

    Busy day ahead methinks.

Have a good one peeps

Going to finish the hall, and just have to gloss everything after xmas.. ooh, better keep the brushes then

Right, back to serious lc today, i will weigh tomorrow and see what damage has been done.

Fingers crossed my uniform will still be loose :undecided

Thanks SO MUCH for the friendly welcome! Will deffo look at that book & check out the link for the flour.Does anyone know of anywhere on the high street that does this flour?

Severe dehydration....(!). I must say even when drinking the voddie I/my mates allways hydrate...I must have a pint of water an hour (!).

Pink princess-yes-that what I'll be trying to do from now on. To be honest never really been a cake/biscuit or pasta man anyway. I LOVE berry fruits too! My G/F is dieting (well being carefull Mon-Fri & then doing what she wants at the w/end!)...she loves pasta, chocolate, etc! One week a few weeks ago-Mon-Friday-we cut carbs down for her (ie just a v. small pice of rye bread with brekkie, home-made jerk chicken salad , etc..not sandwiches)-she lost 1.8kg in a week!

Re: the Ketosis thing.....I read somewhere you've an idea that you're in it cos...ahem (!) your urine smells different-I've noticed this before when not specifically low carbing...but its daily now-& it does smell somewhat like nail polish remover...(!)...NICE (!)

Beans....they were ALDI reduced sugar beans-I only have 100g-6 net carbs.

No...no carb 'flu'...not sure I know exactly what you mean?

Did anyone have any breadmaker recipes??

Also....anyone know of any supermarkets that do low-carb stuff....tortilla wraps, etc..??
  • a sign on Ketosis is bad breath anf stron wee. If you want to check you can buy Ketosticks from chemists. Dip them in your wee and they change colour usually red if your burning fat but pinks a better colour for them to go as it means your not dehydrated
Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!
  • Thanks! Yes...not sure if I've bad breathe but mouth tastes not fab I'm afraid!

Also...if any of you have any aisian shops nearby...linseeds are about £1-30 a big bag! The price of milled flax in say Holland & Barrett is shocking-grind your own! A cheap coffee grinder is only £12 or so!

i've never been able to find lc tortilla wraps. Would love to know if lc tortills are available. No help with the breadmaking either as I buy lc bread 6 g per slice. Good point about linseed.
