  • Aliasojo - I am sure I read something about allergies which said the body often craves the very thing that is causing the problem.

Mazzers - Your unsweetened tea will start to taste better soon I promise you, just stick with it.

Christ we're a bunch of losers :rotfl:

Moan moan moan, and that includes me :D and totm just about over, so whats up with me??

Well, been great all day in work, then, because im tired and fed up i went to look at the clothing sales in tesco and i looked so minging and fat i decided mothers day is coming early, so i bought a box of chocs, which myself and the boys scoffed straight away, and i've had a pasty, and plan to have a cheese roll too.

But now that i'm full of sugar i feel sadder as it means i'm getting bigger now not smaller ( i need psychoanalysing badly ) and.. i went outside and saw a neighbour i haven't seen for weeks and she said, gawd, you've lost weight, but to me, i look fatter?? help, i'm losing my marbles again :(

I think our own fat camp commune would be brill :)

Dya know, the trouble with lc for me is this, great results immediately, but it seems to come to a standstill then, whereas my friend, who is doing WW, doesn't lose much for a while, but then it seems constant and she has now overtaken me and lost a stone, while for me it still only 10lb, so obviously, thats why i'm fed up and i've only just realised it.

I feel like i'm mostly being good, refusing all the goodies in work and at home, but left wondering how come i'm not thin then? :(

You know how 'good' (;)) I am at cooking and recipes etc....well I need help.

I need suggestions for the most 'junk like' lc meals I can get.

Short story is that eldest son (27) has various disabilities (including learning). He is not active and is now the heaviest he has ever been. He needs to lose weight for health reasons and 'normal' dieting is doing nothing. He has fixed ideas about things and there's lots he wont eat so I'm up against a wall before I start.

I've persuaded him to give icing a go but I need to give him things that seem run of the mill to him otherwise he'll just not eat it.

Today was the start of him icing, he had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, crispbreads and cheese for lunch and sausages/turnip chips/brocolli for dinner (that was close enough to normal sausage and chips for him to be happy).

Tomorrow I'm going to do the butter chicken thing on grated cauli as that will be like a normal curry for him.

He wont eat fish (unless I can hide it in some way) and he'll only eat eggs if they're scrambled.

If anyone's got any ideas on meals that seem as 'normal' as possible, I'd be grateful. I've gone blank already.

  • Mince & tatties?? Using cauli mash instead of tatties & bulking out the mince with leek & mushrooms.

    Corned beef hash??

I'll try & think of some more & come back ...
  • mazzers, not being funny (honest :o), but has your friend stuck with WW whereas you have slipped off the lcing wagon occasionally (cough :p)??

The more I read about lcing, the more I know it's the right thing to do for me. Have been reading quite a few articles today (after googling about hormones & lcing) & it's got me all fired up to start again. Need to do some shopping & eat the inevitable Mother's Day chocolates tomorrow :o & then that's me, back to being sensible.

maz, sure I read somewhere about flaxseed being good for blood glucose?? I know you do use it already but thought I'd mention it just in case you weren't aware of the BG link.
  • alias, not sure if you've tried the cauliflower pizza?? I haven't (but intend to) so not sure how 'easy' it is to do.
Thought maybe your son could help out with putting the toppings on??
There's also a fake pizza recipe in the IPD cookbook I've just bought, seems fairly straightforward so something I would try (I'm not a great cook either).
From what I've read so far, I think I would recommend the book actually, lots of recipes & some 'family' recipes as well.
One thing I've noticed is how often butternut squash features in their recipes!! Actually, that's something else you could put in with mince & tatties (small cubes of it in the mince or mashed with the cauli).
Sorry if I'm waffling, I've started on the wine ...
  • I ordered Neris & India's book and cookbook from Amazon and they arrived today, so I'm feeling all fired up.

Me too :D Well, just the cookbook & feeling all fired up bit as I already had the diet book.
It does say in the cookbook that you should read the diet book first, hope you enjoy it, tis a good read. I'm going to read mine again over the weekend, ready for Monday.

  • Me again :o

mazz, I've tried to find the info on flaxseed & BG/IR I saw earlier but can't find it (must be the wine) but I think it was on this website:

    http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/

I've had this site on favourites for ages, lots of good information & recipes, I must read it more often!!

Right, that's me for the night, I have wine to drink & TV to watch!!
