felt hungry today ( actually i dont think it was hunger but I wanted to keep eating)

    breakfast 2 boiled eggs

lunch mackeral , coleslaw ,tomato, marmite cheese (oh its lovely :o)

tea will be corned beef hash ( with cauli)

then I have also had 2 low carb crackers with butter, a rice cake , more cheese and some peanut butter :o:o I cant seem to stop :(

Thats not so bad, get rid of the rice cake though (imo) the reason many of us get along with this diet is because it curbs hunger , it curbs hunger because it lacks carbs , I dont think the rice cakes will help.

I didnt have the G&G crackers until last week , after 4 months , and although I can see that they are very good , they do have an effect on my appetite.

imo, and its only mine, I would look to doing 12 weeks without any bran or rice carbs at all.

After 12 weeks when you are in control and your appetite has shrunk, then look at some extras.

This is, of course, only my opinion, and its not meant in any other way

was having a little looksie on tinterweb earlier for an alternative to mashed potato (which I also love!) and saw that pumpkin is a similar texture to potato and can also be roasted, baked etc - has anyone tried it??!! I know that cauli can used as a mash but sometimes its nice to have something different!!
    Hi newcook
I roast chunks of celeriac as an alternative to roast potatoes. DH & I like it a lot & as you say, it's a change from cauli mash which we have a lot. I haven't had roast BNS as an alternative because DH tells me he doesn't like it. He has it in soup though! ;)

    thankyou
I wonder if it is the crackers and rice cakes then that stimulated my appetite. I have added them I think cos it emulates 'normal' eating and helps me to feel that i am not missing out.
will definitely try a few weeks without - thanks again

Know what you mean Dr DD, i'm terrified of having carbs ever again, once i start i cant seem to stop and even if i limit them in the future ( cant face never having an apple again :( ) i know that they will raise my appetite and i'll be back on the slippery slope.

Just had a lovely meal, fried pieces of chicken, chorizo, onion and mushrooms and swirled in double cream and served on a bed of spinach, looked delish too, the creamy sauce went brown and mushroomy.. was tempted to take a pic to tempt you all to make it :)

Sweet that made me laugh, the staring vacantly into the fridge, i find myslelf doing that all the time, think it inspires me :rotfl: did it just before i made the chicken concoction.

    Hi all!

Jeez those crispbreads are dry, no wonder sazbo named them compressed hamster bedding :rotfl:
Nice and crunchy though and quite filling as they take so much chewing.
Depends what you put on them. I like cream cheese / pate as a start, then top with hot meat, scrambled egg, fried eggs, cheese etc. Think the use of something a bit 'wet' helps. I also like em dry with cheese :rotfl:
Another good day, had the rest of the bol over fine beans, nice, but not as nice as courgette.

Get well soon mercy and gers x
    I'm much better thanks hunni!

Mercy, I'm impressed yuo're sticking to low carb when feeling ill. It's the last thing I fancy when I've got a bug.

You are low carbing, you don't have to stop, not til you are proper full anyway. Snacks are useful and if low carb will not do any harm til you get over the need to stuff. Then you'll find yourself believing you when you are full and it'll tail off.

    Smee again!

Gers - Have a great time! Also, if you take vit D try having a mega dose, I did 10x 5000iu when I felt a bad cold coming on. It went away. Didn't need anything else and I've not needed any but usual since. Might be worth a go as it's such an important time.

DrDD - Nuts + very good choc is :T:j:T:A:beer:
sistercas - rice cakes will do more carb harm than the crispbreads. Rice cakes with choc on are polystyrene in drag :rotfl: I can't eat anything that makes my teeth sqeek :rotfl:

Am back on real food, it's up to my digestion to keep up.

Did an Asda reduced pork roast yesterday, v nice.

    Today's food
B - 2x crispbreads plus lumps of pork
L - cabbage and bacon based stoo with green beans, leek etc
D - gravy stoo with pork etc

My dinner tonight was 1/2 leek finely chopped, many chestnut mushies, chopped, cooked in a little water, black pepper, butter. When half done, took out solids and reserved, put juice into jug. Added enough water to jug for gravy mix.
Made gravy using juice n water. When thickened added leek and mushies then chopped pork pieces. Generally stewed for about 15 mins.

Very tasty and less than 5g carb. :j:T:j

    Yumsk!

PS - gravy used was 1/2 packet of schwartz chicken gravy mix - a la mazzers, it really is the best.
