Funny though, I had a chocolate pudding last night (classic eyes bigger than belly moment) & it was horrible, kept thinking how much better Mercy's chocolate buns are!!

Gers - Have a great time! Also, if you take vit D try having a mega dose, I did 10x 5000iu when I felt a bad cold coming on. It went away. Didn't need anything else and I've not needed any but usual since. Might be worth a go as it's such an important time.

Many thanks! All packed and ready to go about 1.00p.m. Will take those Vit D tabs now too... I've only got 2000iu tabs in the cupboard but not sure about taking 25 of them  Got Benylin Day and Night stuff which at least let me sleep well last night and will take it on the plane too.

Had a LC breakfast at Sainsbury's, stripped the bed, changed the towels, taken the recycling to the tip and eaten a Boost!! :o:o

I hope to read great reports when I get back. Sweet - watch those holiday HC creeps.... :rotfl:

    Have fun folks.

    I'm back!

    That was fun :rotfl:

Success! 3 pairs of Next 14L jeans are now mine :j
All for £8.69 :) Not bad at all. Also a nice grey/silver 'velvet' shirt for £2.99.

Having saved all this money I was struck by a green velour/velvet lounge dress whilst on the market so plan to try that on in a bit. It's got nice embroidered asian style panels on front and a zip! Think I'll be washing it before wear though as it has a odour somewhere between plastic and sheep  For £6 it'l keep me warm and decent :)

H&B Buy one get one half price stops Thursday so shop while you can if there's owt you need. Stocked up on crisbreads and coconut oil. They only had 1 oil so they let me pay for 2 and pick one up next week.

Did forget to buy some gammon for cabbage stoo so will have to go out again later, it's such a nice day though so good to walk somemore.

Hope you're all having a good day!

Hi all. How's it hanging? :D

Been busy with house stuff the past couple of days, got a head full of diagrams and cable runs so haven't been very 'icing social' iyswim.

I'm struggling today, getting fed up of chicken and eggs etc. There's not a great deal in the cupboards at the moment even although OH managed to spend £160 in Morrisons the other day. God knows what he bought cos all I seem to have is bacon and sausages.

So I need to go shopping but I'm tired so probably wont. :rotfl:

I agree with sweet about the 'hard to do during school break' thing. We don't seem to have any sort of routine at all and peeps are coming in and out at different times and leaving with a roll and jam in their hand! (Well not really a roll and jam but you get my drift I'm sure).

I'm positive I'd be thin if I could hand over responsibility to someone else...that's how rich peeps are thin, they have a cook etc. :D All they do is eat the stuff.

Very jealous of Gers btw. :rotfl:I could do with a hol right now.
Herman - MP for all! :)

ha! that is really funny, (missed out a comma)

I ate the last of my coleslaw today (with corned beef for lunch). that's a 2kg tub of coleslaw I've eaten this week!

Well done on both the size and the bargain. Woman after my own heart.

Gers - I know I am a bit late but have a great time, am a big bit jealous.

Mazzers and Dr DD - know exactly how you feel. I have been pretty well behaved for the last five months and am now beginning to think that I will have to limit carbs forever as once I start I don't know when to stop. Am still fairly heavy but weight is gradually coming off after cutting out the peanuts. Met someone today I haven't seen for a while and they noticed the change. Do you think we should set up CA (carbs anonymous) as a support network!

I'll join CA with you AH :D

Found some roasted salted soya beans in tesco today, £1.05 for quite a biggish bag, 1.7g in an eighth of a bag (will give correct weight tomorrow as am in bed shattered) while not exactly like peanuts (they're a bit dry) i think they are a good substitute.

Also, for those struggling with breakfast before work, i have been having a lc shake as i cant eat first thing and dont get a chance til lunch, they are pretty good, fill a gap and keep you ticking over, also got lots of vits and minerals so are better than nothing at all.. probably

    Menu for today was

    Steak and eggs for breakfast

    melon,cherries and rasperries lunch

salmon and broccli in cheese sause with courette strips. for tea.

    very full
I think i am begining to understand the concept ( after 2 weeks of trying),does this look ok to everybody.
  • Been a lovely dry week here so decided to go to car boot and shopping with DD. Got up this morning and its been raining!!

Teeni I would look to alter the fruit lunch. Green salad with some protein like cold meat, fish or cheese would fit the bill a bit better. Can even have a spoonful of full mayoinaise if you find it a bit boring. I am still finding out mistakes I am making and this is my second prolonged spell on low carbing. Although I don't post every day I always read the thread and don't think I would still be on track without the support and recipe ideas from the other contributers. Definitely is a good support network and have never seen anyone being anything but fully supportive (unlike some of the other threads).

Mazzers will look at the roasted soya beans. The Tesco we have here is tiny but will try and go to the larger one during the week. The problem I have with peanuts is that I can't stop at a proportion of a bag and usually eat the lot. Works out about 20 carbs I think. Got cravings for them for a couple of days but hopefully past that. I keep walnuts, brazil nuts and hazelnuts mixed in a airtight box and tend to have a handful of them but can be dry. Just get a bit bored from time to time but am getting better at talking myself out of it.

Need to stay on track as just found out that I am not allowed to retire until after I'm 65 and I thought it was 62. They changed it 10 years ago but seem to have changed it again more recently. Am damned sure I am not paying into a pension all these years and not being healthy enough to enjoy it.
