Just back from a very blustery walk!! In the house 2 minutes & spotted the dreaded Google Camera Car zooming into our road!! Thank goodness I wasn't outside, I looked like something the cat had dragged in with all that wind!! The windy weather that is, not me. :rotfl:
Was going to make shepherds pie tonight (thanks to Cupra for that idea) but hubby wants burgers so will have that minus the bun with some cheesy leeks.
Hoping to go out for the day tomorrow, maybe to York, so going to make some fudge to take with me. I'm going to try making the cheesy leek/ham concoction so will report back on taste etc!!
Hope everyone doing ok today. Will pop back later.

So far today I've had ... 2 pepperami ... for some reason since starting on Atkins haven't had the appetite that I used to (which is a good thing I think)
The missus has found a recipe for a low-carb cheeseburger ... seems to me to be more like a quiche but with cheese instead of pastry so sure we'll be trying that at some point
Something we found works as a cold snack or as part of a hot meal - marinade strips of chicken breast in a sauce made of 2tbsp double cream, 1tsp chilli powder, 1tsp garam masala in the fridge for a couple of hours, then cook on a medium heat in a pan until the chickens cooked all the way through before turning the heat up to crisp the outside - practically carb-free (the chicken is, the chilli/garam masala we're not sure on) and tastes great hot or cold0 -

Mmm, you've got my taste buds going, glad you popped infancied the shep pie but really want the curried chicken :T
After having my first bread in weeks the other day ( on the course, i did tell you all..).. it did make me think about when peolple have a blow out on low cal then get back to it, its supposed to boost weight loss, and just maybe it would work on LC. Glad to hear it might.
Sweet, i wouldnt have put coconut oil in coffee but i think mercy did and i quite fancied it, it is oily on top but tastes lovely, i think i could well get addicted.. but, i am using a smoky kenco blend and it does rather overpower so may be a waste of good coffee, praps a cheapie will do just as well. It has lots of uses, as it says on the leaflet but the one that made me laugh was as a sexual lubricant
Turned out beautiful after all, not that ive seen much of it stuck in the training room all day.
I actually didnt get lost today either :j0 -
Hehehe ... well now I've been tempted ... my gf works for a nursery and one of the mums gave her a large Cadbury's Creme Egg easter egg with 2 normal eggs inside ... managed to get rid of one of the normal eggs to family but my and gf are both adamant we're not going to have any ... but my resolve is cracking.
Getting over the hunger pangs by drinking lots of fluid at the moment - have at least 2 litres of tap water a day, plus have at least 2 litres of diet soft-drinks - Diet Coke, Diet Kick (Tesco own-brand Red Bull), Diet Almond Coke etc. etc. etc. - seems to help with filling my up without gorging on lots of calories or carbs0 -
Well I'm still enjoying my Graze boxes, although they're not enough to replace lunch they do subsidise a nice sushi box
. Only thing is, they're sending me dried apricots tomorrow, which don't sound very low-carb
So another couple of days menus:
Tuesday
Egg and tomato
Brazil nuts, pecans and almonds, fresh grapefruit
Veggie sushi
Total greek yoghurt
Cauliflower cheese and Quorn sausage
Today
Egg mayonnaise and lettuce
Pistachios, mixed seeds and fresh pineapple
Veggie sushi
Quorn "turkey and stuffing" slices
Cacao nibs (I read some research that this helps your workout, seems to do the job)
I'm still hungry this evening though! Ever since the clocks changed, my body clock's a mess - hungry well into the late evening and can't get up in the morningMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
daisy, that google car is weird looking!! Only caught a glimpse because as soon as I spotted it I hid behind the door!! Didn't want to be caught on camera with mad hair & a red face!! :rotfl:
cupra, like the sound of your marinated chickenbut please don't talk about creme eggs on this thread!! I've only just got over my addiction to them!!
mazzers, still not fancying the coffee/coconut oil combo!! Love the smell of coconut (used to hate it) but it's just the thought of eating/drinking oil!! _pale_ And as for the sexual lubricant suggestion!!
Badger, like the sound of your menus & it reminds me that I really should make cauliflower cheese again soon.
Well peeps, I have made my cheesy leek/ham fudge but won't be tasting it until tomorrow - looks & smells ok though.
Also made Mercy's chocolate mascarpone dessert - OMG it's lush!! Very, very rich but very, very nice!! Mixed a few raspberries in with mine before putting in the fridge & it was really nice to get that tang. Made a bigger version of Mercy's so it probably feeds about 6-8 people looking at the mascarpone packso I would estimate I had about 1/8th & that was plenty with a splash of double cream.
