anyone watch willies chocolate factory programme, he did some scientific tests on high % chocolate before exercise and those who had the chocolate saw the levels of exercise they were doing as easier than those on the placebo and had a greater tendancy to burn fat- sounds pretty good for all the dark choc lovers on here!keep calm and carry on :rotfl:

Thanks, Daisy and Sweet. I'd recommend sedation to anyone who had a dentist-phobia. It's wonderful, and I've been perfectly compos mentis since I left the clinic. I've suggested to OH that I'm sedated for every check-up, hygienist appointment and filling, but he went a bit green at the thought. Money well spent, say I!
An added benefit has been that I couldn't eat beforehand, and could manage only a child-size portion of HM chicken curry, then strawberries and cream this evening. The little stick is purple like it's never been before. I'll probably make up for it tomorrow though .

Gawd, its quiet in here lately..
Not a very nice day think we're in for more of this
Lets hope i can save some petrol by not getting lost today
Love driving but not on motorway
Had better go and make my flax bread sandwich, everyone was intruiged by my 'cardboard bread'
actually it looks very much like coarse rye bread that tesco sells and has a similar consistency but is great for a packed lunch.
See you later, i hope its a bit busier in here then0 -
Just found this thread so thought I'd post up
Been doing Atkins on Induction for the past 32days (I have a website to track my weight/BMI etc.) - so far I've lost a total of 9kg since 7th March 2009 and my BMI is now dangerously close to being <30 for perhaps the first time in my adult life (I'm 28)
To put it into context - been roughly following a WW style plan for the past 2.5 years and lost around 20kg in that time, then seemed to plateau and not lose anymore (but not gain either) and now moving onto Atkins have started the weight-loss again.
I've also gone from a 42" waist to 38" now (though I have some 36" jeans as these are getting a bit loose now)
Next target is 110kg (4.1kg to go) and final target is ~100kg (BMI of 26.5) - I'm naturally a large person anyway, so I don't think going for less than that would suit me
Keep up the good work everyone0 -

Welcome cupra, You've done well, but bet you'll see an improvement in your waist measurement on atkins, i never lose from my top half (especially my tummy) but i have on atkins and my stomach is hardly recognisable after only 9lbs as i'm no longer bloated.
Right, i gotta go.0 -
Hiya Cupra Kev.
Good to have someone else on board. You've done well on your weight loss over the last while, you must feel much better for it now. (Although being older than you I still work in 'old money' and kilos are just flipping confusing....but maybe that's just me.
:rotfl:)
Well today I'm going to get back into my routine. (Note the positive 'I'm going to'....and not 'I'm going to try to').
The past 2 days have been a nightmare as we've been going round garages trying to sort out trade-in prices and find a car we can actually (kinda) afford to buy. My routine has been shot to hell and I've been grabbing an Atkins bars or a bag of peanuts on the passing.Today will be proper meals and no crap.
It's dull and overcast here today, drizzly and damp. I suspect I'll not be stepping foot over the door but I've got loads of stuff to do in the house so I may switch the pc off to give me at least a chance of getting it done. :rotfl: (Notice I said 'may')Herman - MP for all!0 -

Thanks mazzers - I saw about a 2" change in waistline on WW in 2.5 years (most came off bottom half) - had the same on Atkins in just over a month
Planning to stay on Induction until I reach 110kg - then going to move onto OWL and introduce slightly more carbs until I reach 100kg - at that point may contemplate joining a gym or something to get more definition to stomach area.
What I've found as well is that having a treat every couple of weeks (eating the pitta bread with a chicken-shish kebab) brings my body out of ketosis, and if I then go straight back onto Induction it seems to kick-start my metabolism again0 -

LOL well I roughly work it out at around 20lbs?
Hopefully even though you've not followed it strictly, as I mentioned before I've found that bringing my body out of ketosis and then going back onto the "straight and narrow" seems to kick-start my metabolism and I still tend to lose weight (sometimes losing more than a week where I've been good)
Sunny here at the moment, though with dark clouds overhead - meal for tonight is shepherds pie made with cauliflower mash so nice and carb-friendly0 -
Good morning all :hello:Hello Cupra Kev
Well, I actually slept until 8.30 a.m. this morning!! Haven't done that for a long time, probably won't be able to sleep tonight now!! :rotfl:
mazzers, coconut oil in coffee _pale_ Why?! Seriously, what does it do?? Doesn't it make your coffee, erm, oily?! Does it have a coffee/coconut taste?? Sounds weird to me!! :rotfl:
ames, didn't see the programme but you've got me thinking about having a bit of chocolate before I do my next bike ride!! Bought some of the 85% stuff from the co-op last week & still haven't tried it, tbh not even sure I'm going to like it, I prefer cadbury's milk!! Or Thorntons!!
Cupra, good to 'meet you'You sound very focussed & committed & have done great so far. Well done. Shepherds pie with cauli mash sounds good - if you want any more l-c meal ideas there's a recipe section on page 1 that Mercy has compiled.
alias, good to see you sounding more optimistic & positiveI'm 'old money' too so Cupra's measurements just went sailing over my head!! :rotfl:
Good luck with the car hunting!! Good time to be buying now.
It's a beautiful, sunny morning here but very, very windy!! Don't think I'll be going out for a bike ride today unless I want to fly instead!!
B - 2 pieces Bacon & 2 fried eggs
L - chicken salad
D - To be decided?? Fancy shepherds pie with cauli mash now
Have a good day everyone
