FWIW I think a short break from it can be good ... I know when I was a few weeks in my OH was away for the weekend, I was feeling really low and ordered pizza one night ... went back on Atkins the next day and didn't have a problem getting straight back onto it, and still managed to lose weight that week.
I think depriving yourself of all nice things for the distant future isn't a good thing - as you say you get in a rut and that makes it harder to start again - personally I'm probably going to allow myself a "treat day" every few weeks, just so I don't feel as if I'm missing out on all the nice stuff there is LOL0 -

Does anyone else find the translation from Swedish absolutely HILARIOUS? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:T Thanks, Ted.
My weight loss has completely stuck for a week or so, so could do with a laugh.Visitors coming for a few days after Easter won`t help, either. All that catering...
X Nerdy.:j:hello::j0 -
Cupra, that second photo definitely shows weight loss in the face - well done!!
Aw alias, sorry you are not feeling greatThat's a shame. Agree with sazzy & cupra though, if your heart is not in it at the moment, then maybe you do need some 'time out'.
As you know I have lapsed once or twice  but I've managed to start afresh (with the help of this thread) & have gone on to lose more weight. I know it's not ideal to keep stopping & starting but sometimes you just have to get your head in the right place.
If you do decide to stop for a couple of days, just make sure you have plenty of low-carb friendly food for when you feel ready to start again, especially those Tesco 2 for £5 ready meals!! They do come in very handy!!
Hope you continue to read & post on this thread, it has definitely helped me get back on the straight & narrow.0 -
alias, I'm wondering if your daughter's Easter Egg prize is no longer safe?! :rotfl:0

Not that I'm going to do this......but I actually genuinely now do understand why people develop bulimia (sp?). I've just disgusted myself and the thought of turning the clock back to undo what I've just eaten is very strong. I hate being sick, but I can see how it would seem like an answer for some people.
It's amazing how a simple, life preserving element can become such a problematic issue sometimes.
I'm off to get p*ssed. See you all later. *waves*Herman - MP for all!0 -
Awww, alias, sorry to hear you are under the weather.
I have met two fab women on the course and they wanted a celebratory starbucks today as it was last day and am sad to report that i had a rocky road with mine and just had some toasted granary with jam<<<< diet police.
So alias relax it a bit for a couple of days then get back to it , plz do come back, dont think of leavingcos we'll come to get you
its the thought of a slimmer summer thats keeping me going.
Kev, what a difference, you look fab
Will go to sweden for my next holiday now i know about the street activities0 -
Lol, made me laugh too. Think I can get a local ferry to Gothenberg??
Will have to check that out.
Well, had my shepherd's pie tonight although tbh it was more like mince & tatties without the tatties!! Just made a mincey gravy type thing with leeks & mushrooms added & had it with broc/cauli/cheesy mash which was lovely. Had some of my chocolate mascarpone pud for afters so felt quite full afterwards. But now I'm hungry again. Doesn't help that eldest daughter is eating sweet waffles & the smell of vanilla is wafting my way. Methinks I'll be having some S&V peanuts tonight. And they always make me thirsty so will have to have a glass of [STRIKE]wine[/STRIKE] water to wash them down.

Had my 2 litres of water today ... pork chops and veggies for tea which was nice
Sainsbury's are running 2 for £3 on chicken breast strips (cooked) so may have a pack of that if I get really hungry, but sticking to just filling up with diet coke at the moment
Something else we've found that we like (and is practically carb-free) is something called Kabonos - little Polish sausages that have some kind of herb/spice in them, and the pack works out at <0.1g carbsSo far found Sainsbury's, Asda and Somerfield sell them
