I started a boxing class while I was away, and I LOVE IT! My friends joke I'm too much of a bloke at heart to like aerobicsHave to say, the body building does sound right up my street. Still tons of weight to lose though (feels like it)

No, you're not too late, we go on Thursday :j
Never been to a Tapas place, I've looked at the menu & it sounds lovely, think the kids will like it too. Not sure about the 'black pudding' though, is it the same as English black pudding, i.e. blood?! _pale_ Will give that a miss methinks!!
Will mention to hubby & see what he thinks about going there, think he's had tapas before & seem to remember he liked it. He was talking about just getting chips in Edinburgh earlier, duh!!
Sorry Sweet, been really busy, but it sounds like Hanspan has pointed you in the right direction.
Also i LOVE Gusto on George street. Taking hubby there for his birthday next week. They do pizza and pasta etc if thats what the kids would like, lovely steaks which i get with spinach or sugar snap peas instead of chips. They also do nice cocktails:DThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Good afternoon peeps :cheesy:
Was rush rush rush yesterday.
Was not a wonderful night, but was ok, a bit mediocre
Not a date sweet, a night out in Cardiff with friends.
The mouse is still here, haven't had the trap yet, bloody postal strike!
Loving the sound of that isolated cottage Gers.0 -
Hello peeps :hello:
Having a quiet, lazy Sunday today, just feel like sleeping.
B - full English (bacon, fried egg, sausages & mushrooms)
L - the usual
D - chicken curry & broc/cauli
Isklar, it is possible to low low-carb on a tight budget, but you do have to be organised. Eggs are your friend as they are cheap, get cheaper cuts of meat, meal plan & batch cook/freeze.
AH, that's exactly what I was thinking about saving money by not buying carp.
HanSpan/G&B, I really fancy the Tapas idea, but hubby is now suggesting McDonalds!! I know he's thinking of keeping costs down, but it's not quite what I was after!! Will have a look into Gusto, I'm not giving up on a proper meal out just yet!!
yummy, glad to hear your skin condition is improving, that must make you feel better. It could be the probiotic tablets that are making you windy?? My belly was going mad when I was eating probiotic yoghurts so just wondered if that could be a possibility??
Gers, is Gibside the National Trust place?? Recognise the name but have never been because our NT membership has lapsed due to lack of funds!!
GoTo, sounds like a good holiday although no idea what boonies is?!
mazzers, a night out with friends sounds good to me.
Off to make dinner, see you tomorrow :wave:0 -
Isklar - another thought. I have just defrosted my freezer and thrown out a lot of good food as I will not be eating it in the foreseeable future. Also kept things like fish pies that I shouldn't.. Plan your intro to low carb by using up the food that is not allowed the week before you start. This will also create some space in the freezer and cupboards for all the delicious stuff you are allowed. If you have markets or farms near you is also possible to get cheap veg like cabbages and turnips.0

I haven't had time to read through the whole thread (Yet!) but I'm wondering how you do LC on a tight budget? I need to lose some weight and LC seems the way to go for me, but I'm worried that it's going to be tough on my food budget. Any advice?
Hi hun, go for cheap 'whoopsed' meat whenever you can, I fill my freezer with stuff I'll use over the coming month when I see it
Then I batch cook meals. Broths, curries, casseroles. all saved and frozen for those quick fix meals - I call them lunchesAlways good to have something that just needs defrosting. Do your to be frozen curries / casseroles on top of a bed of crushed and dehydrated cauliflower - cheap if bought frozen from any supermarket - then it's a meal in itself.

So totally agree. Use up the dodgy stuff whilst starting low carb. It'l give you the Dr Dahlqvist (page one this thread) start and set you off in a good direction. Get it used - MSE stylee then what is in your freezer from then on will be good stuff you just cooked up yourself!
Big love all

Hi all!
I've been really screwded up by time change.
To me it's nearly 9pm so off for a kip soon
Celebrated good man becoming 35, he's a darlin and family orientated.
Today's food
Ox heart fried in mix of tom puree, beef oxo cube and leeks
3 pints of cider
will be same meat mix as earlier on top of crushed cauli.
WOW! Made the rest of the ox heart into the nicest casserole with the richest sauce you'd ever imagine! SOOO scrummy! All done before 1 pm.Will pot it off on top of squashed and dry fried cauli for at least 5 mealstomorrow.
Yum! :rotfl:
Big love to all!

Mazzers, some years ago I had a problem with mice and decided to use an humane trap to catch them. That was okay but then I read somewhere that unless you then take them 3 miles away and preferably over water, they will come back! I eventually had to give in and call in the the environmental health people to help me out. I knew they had gone when the smell went!
Just waiting for my nut roast to roast and then will be having Sunday roast (minus the roast potatoes). Now on my third G & T waiting for the dinner so no wine for me tonight!Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0 -
Sorry to butt in here guys, I'm doing celebrity slim right now, but plan on going LC full time after Xmas, and will join in with you then. Anyhoo, I was in Tesco today and they have all their Atkins bars reduced. I don't know if any of you guys use them, but I am enjoying the daybreak ones as a snack on my diet and they are down to £3.82 for a 5 pack, the other bars are reduced too. Just thought I'd mention it on here, MSE and all that
.
It's only a game
