I'm planning my refeed day with cheat meal too for tomorrow but won't mention it any more and rub it in!
Know today is going to be a struggle on the lc front as I'm off work with a poorly eye and generally feeling rubbish so all i want to do is drink tea, eat biscuits and have chips! Doing OK so far but will have to see how the rest of the day pans out!Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -

tea and buttery toast with marmite for breakkie
chocolate hob knobs for snacks
something with chips for lunch
plenty of cups of tea with biscuits dunked in
pizza from my fave lil italian in southampton
chocolate cake, with chocolate sauce and cream and strawberries
Hope you have a great birthday! However if you have been strictly low carbing recently and then eat all that you will feel so ill:eek: I know i do if i go off piste, you dont want to feel ill on your birthday:oyummymummy79 wrote: »I'm planning my refeed day with cheat meal too for tomorrow but won't mention it any more and rub it in!
What is the purpose of the refeed day? I've heard other people talking about it too. Does it help? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
g&b - true, maybe I will cut out the chips.....:D
I know I did a refeed when I fell off the wagon, felt crap the following day, so hopefully will just mix in with being hungover!!!:rotfl:
enjoy your refeed day yummymummy, but don't stress today if you are ill - maybe move refeed to today? :rolleyes:SPC5 #1651 total so far: £78.590 -
Hi peeps
not been too bad so fari have to get myself back into eating 3 times a day and spread the meals out through the day instead of eating all three meals at once and late at night
Yesterday i ate nothing until 6pm then had a beef curry a pepperami and then grabbed a frikadillen out of the fridge
Today has been a bit better and i`ve just had a late breakfast of bacon, sausages, mushrooms, buttery scrambled egg and a tomato
I never stopped drinking the camomile tea at all even when i went back to the carby stuff as i love it, i like the convenience when at work as i just leave the teabag in the cup and top up as an when so no more faffing about with milk and sugar.
Later i shall have lettuce leaves filled with Philly and a tin of mackerel and then for tea i`ve more beef curry
Sotonsaverjen - Have a lovely birthday
I`m off to sort out the kitchen and stare at all my lovely lc food in the fridge
Have a good day everyone.

Been away most of the week but back now. Been as good as... bronze!
Had a couple of glasses of wine during the week and some carbs as meals were very difficult to control. The friends I was staying with one night made shepherds pie (they've got children) and it's not good manners to refuse to eat it - but it was delicious and I enjoyed every single sinful mouthful.
However not succumbed to sugar/sweet at all, even when I had a really rubbish day yesterday and eyed up the lovely looking mini-muffins in Costa (stopped to pick up a coffee on my long drive home) and didn't flinch at them. Normally they'd be bought and scoffed in 5 minutes flat as an emotional support. So lots of progress there. Don't look twice at most stuff these days - not perfect but almost angelic. And I'm not going to beat myself up if I do have some naughtiness, spent too many years on the guilt trip to fatness that I refuse to do it anymore.
Today has been bacon and eggs for breakfast, with milled flaxseeds scattered on top (after my mandatory coconut oil) and then lunch was a lovely ham salad with wilting leaves which have been in the fridge too long. Don't know what's for evening meal although I did cook the cauliflower lingering at the back of the fridge and mashed it up with butter and pepper. Smells wonderful so may just retrieve some meat from the freezer for the meal.0 -
Refeed is supposed to give your metabolism a kick up the bum cos if you do the same thing for too long, your body then becomes used to that as the norm and starts to slow the metabolism. Theres also something to do with carbs helping with a hormone (leptin i think) which controls appetite, food intake and energy expenditure so if you have no carbs for a long time, this hormone isn't at it's most effective, or something like that. The exact sciencey bit escapes me at the mo!
This all sounds great, but the trouble is it's very easy to go from a carby day (which is meant to just include something like porridge for brekkie, potato/rice for lunch/dinner and maybe a small amount of bread) to a full on blow-out cheat day which can end up being counter productive. A cheat meal is fine as long as its not absolutely ridiculous, which again is easy to do!
My plan at the mo is my daily BMR calorie level (how many cals you burn on an average day, factoring in activity level - for me is 2100cals) minus 30% (1470 cals), with a carb/fat/protein split of 20%/40%/40% for 5-6 days a week. Refeed day is full calorie level with a 50%/30%/20% split, including a cheat meal in the evening.
Sounds a bit technical I know but it's all on a spreadsheet and I've worked out what each meal should include, and set this up on the food diary website I use too. In reality, I tend to stick to it all reasonably well, give or take 100 cals a day.
Bear in mind thought that I'm doing this from a weight training / potential bodybuilding perspective so need to maintain muscle if possible, so may not work for everyone.

I'm back
soton, you don't have to stop saying cwoffeee, it doesn't irritate me at all, I just wondered why you said it
Gers, lol at you being good as bronze!!
marrow, well done on the 2lbs off, you are obviously doing something right!! Btw, was that after the kidney beans?!
g&b, been meaning to ask after your daughter, how is she doing after her op??
Well, I've been to Tesco today & was given a freebie sample bottle of carotino!! Anyone heard of it?! I hadn't either!! It's red palm & canola oil & is, according to the bottle, "the oil everyone's talking about!!"
Tis supposed to be healthier than olive oil & can be used in the same way, apparently. Anyway, I'll try it, but only because it was free, lol!!
Have a luverly weekend everyone :j0 -
Not long now til I wave byebye to carbs so this weekend I am going to eat bread, mashed potato, chips, crisps and anything else I really like that has carbs!!
I’ve been wondering what to have for my tea tonight – I was going to have chippy but I can have donnor or chicken meat next week (and have a salad instead of chips), then I thought of pizza but I am going to make a low carb pizza with a cauliflower base next week!! I want to keep the meat I have in the freezer for next week so I wont need to buy as much.
Hmm, maybe a chip butty or pie and mash (both with curry sauce!) - I need to use up the potatoes in the cupboard!!0
