But replacing the wholemeal flour with soya flour and almond flour which have more calories and fat, and bringing cheese back in must have really added on the calories, and where are they all going?
thanks for the love:)
As an aside, soya - when not fermented - can mimic oestrogen. This has the effect of giving men boobs and women a tummy bulge. I'd leave off the soya if I was you as a first step.
Just cut it out, leave everything else the same and see how you are in a coupla weeks.
Loveyloveliness to you :rotfl:

This includes full-fat dairy products as they're far more healthy than most alternatives. Low-fat food products are predominantly higher in sugar. This may explain your "tummy fat" as a diet high in sugar (including hidden sugars) can cause metabolic syndrome and diabetes type 2, both of which will cause an increase of fat deposits, both visceral (around internal organs) and adipose (under the skin) in the midriff area.
How is your sleep pattern? As lack of sleep and stress causes a raised level of cortisol which will also contribute to fat gain, particularly around the tummy.
very interesting. it was food high in saturated fats that i cut out, using skimmed milk and making my own cakes and biscuits using oil instead of butter and splenda in place of sugar, I don't buy any of the low fat food products, (apart from the cheese when i did eat it and that was reduced fat - fat taken out, nothing else added in). But sleep and stress definitely are a problem with me.0 -
Our food today has been lovely.
Brekkie was smoked salmon and scrambled egg
Lunch was two huge flat mushrooms stuffed with red and white onions, cracked red and black peppercorn soft cheese cooked in garlic butter
Think I might have curry with cauliflower rice for dinner.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Today I bought a new dress. It is still a size 16 but is has more shape to it than I usually buy. Tonight I went back through my records since starting Low Carb dieting a year ago. I was encouraged to see I have lost 6" from my waist and hips and 4" from my bust. It has given me such a boost to be able to wear such a shapely dress again.
Menu
B: 2 boiled eggs.
L: 2 lamb chops, salad & brazil nuts.Low Carb lasagne (instead of the pasta I used cabbage leaves). 2 squares 81% chocolate.
Weight loss 0/2st
Inch loss = 0"

Where is everyone? :hello:
Back from holiday and have put on weight, againI had a few ice creams and pasta twice so I guess that I shouldn't be surprised but I had a lot of healthy salad as well.
Back on the straight and narrow since yesterday and I am sticking to 35 - 40 carbs as I just can't go lower any more and stick to it.
breakfast : eggs, bacon and half a tomato
lunch : half avocado, salad, shrimp and tsp mayonnaise
dinner : smoked mackeral, brocolli, almond pancake with tbsp berries and a little single cream
extras : 100g probiotic yogurt with flax / seed mixture, 2 sq 70% chocolate, 4 walnuts and 1 brazil + tsp almond butter
How is everyone out there?
marrbett : thanks for asking about me. How are you doing?
Mercy have you sorted out your job issues?
durham_mim : well done :T
murphydog : sounds that you are busy
randm : Chameleon is right . There are many articles supporting the fact that too little sleep and stress can stop weight loss or cause gain

Hi Sheila,
Glad you were away because you were on your hols, was getting worried for you !!
I'm doing well thanks, feeling fit and sticking to low carb generally.
I was going to ask if anyone uses apple cider vinegar? I've been reading about it and it is supposed to have amazing health effects.
I'm going to get a bottle and give it a go on salads and may even have a watered down version as a drink!!
Have a good weekend all.xx0 -
Hi everyone,
Good to see you again Sheila, hope you had a great holiday.
Its been busy, busy busy here again. Off house clearing again today. Middle daughter is back from Uni on Tuesday and then its just non stop birthdays, anniversaries etc.
So far I'm managing to stick to the diet (actually I forgot, I had chocolate biscuits this week) and have managed to lose another 1lb so at least the scales are going in the right direction again.Weight loss 0/2st

well done durham_mim - another 1lb in the right direction :T I bet that you'll be glad your daughter back home
I sneakily weighed myself yesterday and have already lost 4 of the 8lb I put on on holiday so am pleased. I will weigh and chart properly on Monday. I was bitten by something yesterday and feel very flu like and tired today. No idea if it was the bite, anti histamine I took or something else but I am going back to bed.
marbett - thanks for caring and glad that all is going well for you
Have a good weekend everyone.0 -
