I had some mooli salad wraps from M&S today, they look like sushi.
Wonders how they make them, guessing they slice the mooli on a mandolin, then roll them up ?
I would like to have a go at making some mexican style chicken ones, and have with sour cream and guacamole
this is an image of them, although they have changed packaging now, obviously I didnt have the ones with the sweet dip, but the pesto ones
edit, photo was too big, so link http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8vXb5TNHwfw/TJtDqZsoFBI/AAAAAAAAACc/89-wCu1H2ok/s1600/wrap2.jpg0 -
dont worry, it turns out everyone else calls Mooli 'Daikon' and there is loads of info on google how to make Daikon wraps0

I made mooli/daikon dauphinoise (sp) the other day. I didn't follow the recipe on page 1, I just used my usual potato recipe but substituted the mooli. It was delicious but a little bit salty. Mooli obviously need less salt than spuds if you're substituting.
ETA: I used my food processor to slice the mooli cos my mandolin doesn't slice thinly enough0 -

Oh lots of lovely new things to try and find, never had sauerkraut & have a Polish shop nearby so will try that. And I've heardof mooli but never tried it so will give that a go too.
Yep still peeing like a horse from the green tea :rotfl: Hated the taste of green tea when I started to drink it but it's growing on me and had a normal cuppa last night, felt really claggy with the milk. Yep it has caffeine for whoever was asking so I try not to drink it too late otherwise I can't sleep.
Been very good foodwise, went for a meal with Mr Avtsar last night and chose Nandos so I could have half a chicken (medium spice, should have gone for hot!), corn on the cob & coleslaw yum yum! The bottled water was stupidly expensive so I got a diet coke as it's free refills in Nandos but I felt wieird after drinking it, it doesn't go well with the clean eating and my body didn't like it.
Can you always order tap water in restaurant even if they offer bottled water, and should they charge you ?0 -
Oh and well done Mercy on giving up smoking, you're doing great! :T0

avstar I don't know what the legal position is, but the Evening Standard in London has an ongoing campaign on being able to get free tap water in restaurants.Nando's gives info on carbs on its website www.nandos.co.uk and there are lots of low carb things, but it's all marinated so there's likely to be some sugar/sweetener in the marinade. If you like the marinades, I've seen them in ASDA and Sainsbury's. Piri piri seasoning is more prevalent now too.
The whole piri piri thing starts in Portugal (doubtless with spices traded from somewhere else) and then was taken by traders to South Africa and the Philippines.
Piri piri in Portugal is not anywhere near as hot as the Filippino version..that's OMG
Currently I'm doing master list of organic stuff sold by local ASDA, then I'm going to make up shopping list and go there if it doesn't rain
Have just put Lidl low carb offers from Thursday up on my blog.0 -
Has anybody come across The Black Farmer sausages? I've just been to Morrison's and was checking meat % and carb content in sausages when I found them. 90% free range British pork and 1g carb per 100g.
It's a 600g pack of 8 sausages, so that's less than a carb per sausage (if my maths are anything like)
I'm cooking them now alongside some from our local butcher so I can compare the taste.
I bought some Black Farmers Daughter chipolatas too, similar ingredients.0
