Well done for resisting the cakes margaretclare :T
I've found a local farmers' market that I can get to by bus in a really pretty village twice a month with a pub called the Rose & Crown so I'm hoping to persuade OH to go with me0 -
I have decided to start a blog and list my daily menu's on there. This way I hope to be able to look back and see any improvements as time goes on. It will help me to be honest with myself.
I had 1/2 cup of brown rice with my chilli con carne last night but was struggling to eat it (felt too full) so have decided I can manage without it in the future.Weight loss 0/2st

If anyone's located near Bromley sorting office could they go in there with a shotgun and make them answer the phone please - in the last week I've spent nearly 5 hours listening to the phone ring and I've still not managed to speak to anyone! Grrrrrrrrr!
But I'm doing well with resisting the cake, I'm giving it to everyone who comes to visit instead LOL.
I got some odd looks yesterday though as I tucked into a curry with no rice, no bread etc but I also find I no longer need it, and I'm sure you're correct Edwardia that eating substitutes doesn't help. I know when I make flax crackers I end up munching the lot and then find I'm more tempted by the real thing as well.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Yes, I've got used to saying 'no thank you' to potatoes. I haven't eaten a potato in any shape or form for nearly a year now. We do occasionally go out for a meal at a Harvester or similar and the conversation is usually 'chips or jacket potato?' 'Neither, thank you'.
If we stop at a Little Chef I usually have an omelette, either ham or cheese, and again, the waiter/ess is at pains to explain that chips come within the price. Never mind. I still don't want them.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

daska - I live near Bromley sorting office, if you mean the one in Greater London / Kent.
How many people would you like shot
Well done with resisting the cake. I really want cake or chocolate today and have already had 15g chocolate. Help !!!0 -
And it's not like Spanish women are all skinny eitther.. not bought any of the clothes but have a gorgeous square wooden table from Zara Home which is pierced Moroccan style. I wrote a letter to a magazine, not even thinking it would get published - it was chosen as star letter and as the prize wasn't available in my area I got a cheque which covered the cost of the table
On my first trip to Menorca with ex and our daughter 20 odd years ago, I decided to buy my bikinis on getting there. I was a DD and the Spanish women are fulsome, or so I thought, would be something not seen at home, etc.
The shop owners didn't even understand about cup sizes, they had no idea, all that was available were tiny coverings.
I spent the entire two weeks in my bra and knickers when on the beach, sunbathing behind a sand dune, whilst the ex gazed at the topless Spanish girls displaying themselves with arms above their head etc. They have it off to a tee!
Trout with almonds and spinach tonight. Lots of lemon butter, raspberries and Jersey cream to follow.0 -

I'm an oldie, so to lose three and a half stone and build muscle will be some achievement so how else to celebrate?0 -

All of them! Preferably with the telephone handset inserted somewhere painful beforehand LOL. My local delivery office are great and the manager there has been really helpful but he can't get through on the phone either and no one has responded to the e-mail he sent on Tuesday. I've written again and told him that if it gets returned to sender I will be seeking compensation for the time spent trying to contact them as well as any financial cost.
Got a wonderful pan today, snow white, I'm steeling myself against trying to bake tonight as I really am far too tired.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

margaretclare - some places will let you have additional salad or veg instead of chips at no extra cost.
padstow - must confess I don't remember name of magazine but the letter was about mail order companies within a large group charging different prices ( I found an £11 difference) for the same product dispatched from same warehouse. For example Kaleidoscope and Freemans are part of the same group, Otto. Homebase and Argos are both part of another group. Ancestral Collections and Artigiano both belong to Scotts of Stow.
As a teenager in South of France I would purposely embarrass my father and go topless on the beach but it's amazing how often men saunter along the beach causing shadows..
daska - good luck with the cakes but don't eat any
D - Wild Alaskan salmon fillets (2 fillets for £3 Sainsbos), organic leeks, Hollandaise sauce, peas0
