    Hello,

I was pointed towards this thread by another forum member who happened to stumble upon one of my threads where I mentioned that I am a low-carber.

I was just wondering if anyone knows a cheap and reliable online source of almonds? I ask because I eat a hell of a lot of them (I soak them for 2 days, then blitz them with a little honey to make an almond porridge, which I have with chopped fruit for breakie every day).

BTW, if you eat a lot of berries (or want to), I recommend buying them frozen from Sainsburys. Raspberries, blueberries and cherries are all £2 for a bag of 400-450g (none have added sugar - they are 100% fruit). They have a deal on right now where they are doing any 3 bags for £5.00. Consider that fresh blueberries cost about £2-3 for 100g.

Oh, and two great websites for paleo/low carb eating are listed below. The latter has a great recipe blog on it (I am making the spicy eggplant tonight!).

    www.marksdailyapple.com

  • Hello U4EA

Please excuse the previous smutty post :o

The only online store I know about is Low-Carb Megastore so you could try that one?? You do have to pay delivery if the order is below a certain amount though.

Thanks for the tip on the frozen fruit - if you like Greek-style yoghurt with your fruit, Lidl do a bucket (literally) of it for a reasonable price - has a good reputation on this thread but is very moreish apparently - tis low-carb as well.

Lidl Greek style creamy yogurt. Like Total but much cheaper in a bucket size and 2.8g carbs per 100g instead of Total’s 3.2g. Yummy, MSE and low carb – can’t beat it! Oh and I’ll be saving the bucket like tub to use as a paint pot.

It was HanSpan who found it originally ^

I haven't bought any, as I didn't trust myself to be sensible :o, but think it was something like £1.98* when I saw it in Lidl. Supposed to be very ice-cream like in thickness.

    * Should say it is a very big bucket :D
