thats why i keep quiet , it annoys me so much that people are so opinionated about something they know nothing about .

Do know what you mean and i often keep shtumm. However, I can't help saying the odd thing because they'll never know if someone doesn't tell them :)

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

I've come to the conclusion that many people just don't want the health advice to be wrong, because that would mean everything they thought they knew about food we be wrong.. that or they'd rather eat cakes now get diabetes later

Watched Dr Lustig on The Men Who Made Us Fat, he should do Ellen..

Just had another long session with VirginMedia and a really helpful man who reloaded Virgin Media Security, took out loads of changes people had made and put it back on the original hub channel so x fingers that it all works now !

Hi may I join in. I have Chronic Lyme disease (which has similar symptoms to ME) and have been advised to eat a low carb diet. About 2 years ago I followed a no sugar diet then just before last Christmas I was really stressed as DH had been told he may lose his job, I stupidly started eating sweets and chocolate again. I am still struggling to cut sugar out completely again. Have succeeded in reducing my carbs and hope eventually to have cut the sugar out completely again.

Cor, that's good :j well done. Was it just sugar, or did you increase your fat intake as well, or any other small changes?

    Hello and welcome!
You should find plenty of advice on here on what/how to cut out stuff and some great recipes and meal ideas.
I don't post a great deal on here, but find it really helpful, so feel free to ask any questions you have:)

It seems we need a new Super Hub and I have to wait four days for a technician avec le hub so I'll only be posting when His Nibs lets me use his laptop.

durham_mim hello there ! Welcome aboard. :D sistercas just lost 6.5lbs doing no sugar so hopefully she'll inspire you and we're all supportive here and dish out virtual hugs, kisses, jumps for joy and other emoticons :D

sistercas :T that's fantastic. you must be soo pleased !:D

I don't weigh myself so I have no idea how much I lost, but I bought two pairs of linen trousers size 16 on 3rd June, one from Sainsbury's (25% off) and one from ASDA George.

Er, I can pull the black Sainsbury's ones off without undoing them now and I haven't even worn the ASDA George ones yet - good job they weren't expensive !

NOTE TO SELF: When losing weight, do not buy expensive trousers. Go charity shop hunting instead :D
