i use cream for sauces, in fact im doing a cream and mushroom sauce for tea, i do use a bit of chicken stock ( or veg stock for cauli cheese) too and tip it into the pan ive cooked the meat in , it tastes divine :D

DD1 is teaching herself to run ( couch potato to 5k type of thing) so ive decided to join her ( DD2 was doing it too but her knees hurt) we have been out this morning and did 5 min walk then 90 sec run followed by 90 sec walk then 3 minute run and 3 min walk , twice ( around 20 mins in total) it nearly killed me but i did manage it :j we are so lucky to live in the countryside we can run through fields and not bump into many people :D

breakfast: 10% greek yoghurt with 3 strawberries and cream
lunch: prawn cocktail lc cracker and roule coleslaw
tea: chicken and mushroom in cream sauce with brocoli and cauli

    Hi

Welcome home Mercy  Any good stories to tell?

I tried the grated cheese in cream sauce with cauliflower when I first started low carbing last year but found it very rich and sickly. Thanks for reminding me Angelfeathers, I will try it again as maybe I am more used to cream now but may water the sauce down a little.

Feeling tons better now I have upped the carbs to 50 for 24 hours, don't know if it psychological but it seems to be helping :)

Cool but sunny here. Edwardia - looking at pots of pansies and other items growing in the garden and think it makes it all worthwhile ;) Having a barbeque later with sausages and chicken satay with salad.

    Hello!

    Feeling rather virtuous just now.:A

Done the food shopping for the week and I have a mexican fudge, 6 Jamie thick cut sausies and a dish of belly pork cooking in the oven.

One lot of washing dried and in and now the towels are being blown about in a goodly fashion on the line :)

Nice out here (Bolton) sunny and t shirt warm but with lots of wind. Just given the house a blow through - finally got rid of the stench of Sherlock's massive poo, too. (one of the drawbacks of stopping smoking - I smell everything now :D)

Yep, 3.5 weeks of no fags. I've NOT smoked 350 roll ups.:j

    Life is good

Does help that I've been seriously de-stressed but not looking forward to work tomorrow. :rotfl:

    Hi Sheila

The hols are a family time, really. Did a lot of walking and caught the sun a bit. Watched lightening one night, sat out in the warm till very late, quite often. Collected (weeds) wild flowers and put them in a vase.

There are 2 girls, 4 and 7, and I took a bag of kittens (toys) which they were allowed to do a lucky dip with over a few days. That was fun as each was different. Money saving too as I found them brand new in a charity shop for 25p each! So a dozen kitties was easy to arrange :rotfl:

I see the girls 2ce a year and do find the changes in them fascinating.

    Well done Mercy :T

Lab got a new dog bed today cos his pile of blankets in previous dog bed smelled a bit too doggy eww

Sunny but chilly here :( Grape vine has a few leaves, standard lilac and ceanothus in bloom, alliums coming up. Clematis and honeysuckle growing away, lemon balm and mint a bit late, chives about to flower, passion flower killed by frost. Eucalyptus and oleanders frost-damaged but olives look fine :) OH fixed low fence around juniper tree to deter lab from leaning on it to have a pee as it had developed a 40 degree angle !

We've got a pork joint in the oven for dinner, not had one since last year maybe longer but OH wants sliced cold pork for his cheese rolls.

Need to buy a BBQ we didn't really like big gas BBQ my parents bought us as the food didn't taste right IYKWIM.

    Catch ya later !

Yay, weight moving in the correct direction again, still got 2lb to go before I get back to 14.5 stone but it's moving! I'm convinced it was the combination of oatcakes/pastrami/stopping and starting the meds.

I make my cheese sauce with philly, water and grated cheddar plus some blue/goats cheese if I fancy it and a bit of mustard (use powder rather than a posh jar as the vinegar can cause it to separate).

Edwardia - I know what you mean about the gas, I have a Cobb BBQ which is a fabulous bit of kit, even comes down to the beach with us.

Edwardia & daska - you are both too posh for me. £2.99 disposable did the trick!;)
Glad that the weight is moving daska.

Mercy - had to read the kittens bit twice. What a novel idea!! Glad that you had a good time :)

Had to forgo the satay as chicken smelt funny. Had some smoked mackerel instead, sausage and salad.

Not windy here but decidedly chilly. Weeded and planted out some geraniums which is a change for me as I usually use impatiens.

Will phone GP tomorrow to learn my fate :D

bossymoo - I grew spuds last year and my granddaughter loved it when we had to delve down in the sack of compost and find them all. She arranged them in order, from smallest to biggest, and then counted them. Good fun and educational! I am sure that your kids will enjoy it as well!!

    Food sounds good!
