strawberries, cream and chocolate sounds yummy to me
In the Daily Mail today Jamie Oliver has a recipe for chocolate ice cream using 70% chocolate. Low carb except for 3oz sugar. Do you think that the sugar could be left out and it would still taste ok?
Isn't it nice to see washing blowing on the line. Little things0 -
Sheila upping the carbs to 50g sounds like a good idea. You can give it a week or so and see if it helps! I tend to eat 50-70g a day at the moment which i know isn't very low but it's better than eating pasta and bread every day.
I made the mistake of saying to my OH quietly 'i can't have a dessert' which was my way of basically saying don't tempt me because i don't want to cave, and someone overheard and then started on at me to have one because 'can't' is negative. :rotfl:I think next time i'll just say ooh no i'm far too full, it'd be wasted on me...
All this talk of duck is making me want to get some this week
Well done on your walking Edwardia, you're doing great!! :T
mmm i like strawberries but they make my blood sugar spike so i can only eat a small portion
have a fab day everyone x0 -
bossymoo well done you :T I promise not to eat any toast to be supportive ! xx
andrewsmum, anything you can do with chicken quarters or drumsticks you can do with duck legs but since they do have more flavour than namby pamby added water supermarket chicken you can go bolder with flavour and add things like chorizo, olives, smoked pimentoes. Waitrose quite often does an offer of 3 packs (6 legs) for £10 We lurve them so much we don't buy chicken portions anymore.
.
Thanks for that. In the end I changed my order (Asda online) to a duck crown. I did notice the pack of 2 duck legs had gone up 30p per pack from last week to £3.20. Still works out cheaper than the 3 packs for £10 from Waitrose, but I suspect Waitroses are better quality. We don't actually have a Waitrose around here anyway. I mainly shop onine at Tesco or Asda because I can't get out of the house easily because of health issues and no car.
I did read with great interest your post about the additives in the Tesco meat though.0 -
I'm obviously the maverick, I'm having blackberries and cream. And I've started adding cacao nibs to my berries and cream, they have a very satisfying crunch and the packet I have from the raw chocolate company works out at 3g for a tablespoon so not too desperately lavish on the carbs.Eat food. There will still be sugar in the 70% chocolate so it might be sweet enough for you - but as my tastebuds are no longer used to sweeteners I'm probably not the best person to express an opinion on it LOL
You might do better with a chocolate mousse, ice-cream tends to need more sugar as the flavours get subdued when frozen.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Hi there - I might have asked this before, but does anyone have any tips for what to do to break a stall in weight-loss? I've not lost a thing since Christmas and am now getting a bit annoyed about it!
I've been pretty hardcore, eating mainly meat, fish, cheese, eggs, green leafy veg, etc. so am struggling to think of what I can change to kick start things again.
Any tips would be gratefully received
TIA0 -
Do you weigh your portions so you know exactly what you're eating? Are you eating something that doesn't quite agree with you (for me that's deli meats)? Do you eat enough fat?Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Are you eating enough fat? Try increasing fat intake for a couple of weeks and see if that works.0 -
Hi - thanks for your replies. I didn't realise deli meats could cause problems, I wonder why?
Any thought on how much is enough fat? I do have cream and cheese everyday, anything else I should perhaps be doing to ensure I'm having enough?0
