    Fair enough, I don't know enough about Dukan myself. I have lost over 5 stone on Atkins since last June, though not much recently, and am interested to see the differences. I also want to lose another 2 stone though it could be a bit more. Cadbury's giant buttons sound nice but I made the melted chocolate with coconut oil and nuts tonight and that was really nice as well.

    I don't quite know where I went wrong with Atkins to be honest. I seemed to lose then put it back on again. It's so hard, isn't it?

    Just been catching up here and noticed a lot of talk about BG test meters. Our Health authority are changing diabetics to the Wavesense Jazz meter because the test strips are much cheaper......if I remember rightly 90% cheaper but don't quote me on that. Don't know if this helps anyone.

    Hi everyone

    bossymoo - we all go off it occasionally but who's perfect? Some days I find it harder than others but it is a good healthy way to eat and worth missing out on some of the foods that I used to enjoy. Hope that you lose this week!!

    I have lost 1lb since last Tuesday, not a huge amount but progress.
    Went to Cafe Rouge for breakfast after having bloods done and had scrambled egg, bacon, mushrooms, sausage and half tomato + coffee with cream. Met a friend and, as I have one of the free tastecards from here, got second breakfast free.

    Lunch - prawns, half avocado, lettuce, cucumber and mayo
    Dinner - chicken, cauliflower mash, broccoli, courgettes and carrots
    Extras - 2 sq chocolate, dsp coconut oil & 10g almonds melted and combined as yesterday.
    Yoghurt with flax and sesame seeds
    Cocoa at bedtime made with lactofree milk.
    Total - 30.5 net carbs, 125g fat, 102,2g protein, 24.2g fibre. Ketones ++

    How are we all doing today? Going to do some work now !!

    sistercas - I just don't see how I can keep the weight off without staying low carb, as I told my GP, but I do hope to be able to increase the carb intake later so that I can have a bowl of porridge or another treat each day. It would be great to be able to eat 80 - 100 carbs a day but don't know if it will happen :D

    mazzers - how has it been today?

    Keep at it and I am sure that the weight will start to come off plus I know that I need to exercise more, though I do walk as I don't drive. I wonder if the Atkins bar or s/f jelly could be slowing you down, as was suggested to me.

    Weight loss - 5 stone 3lb since last June, want to lose another 2+ stone. Ideal weight is another 3+ stone but don't realistically expect to get there.
