I've pm'd you HanSpan.
Thank you.
Sweet, sorry to hear you're not having a good time right now. Treading water till you can get started again is fine...just don't drown yourself in junk thinking 'to Hell with it'.
I had a weird thing yesterday afternoon where I got really dizzy and lightheaded..to fainting point...and I had to go to bed. The room was spinning bigtime and I felt hellish. I've had vertigo for years and thought it was that but I didn't quite feel like I usually do so wasn't sure.
I was craving crisps really badly, I felt like I needed the salt. After about an hour, I gave in and ate crisps and within 20 minutes I felt much better.
I have no idea what that was all about but I think it was diet related tbh. I had drunk 1.5 lites of water within about an hour so I'm wondering if my normal salt/mineral levels were suddenly sent loopy. Just clutching at straws mind...it maybe had nothing to do with it at all.It was just a bit weird how I really wanted crisps.
Anyway, I needed to go shopping again and couldn't so I'm treading water today with Sweet I'm afraid. I'll need to eat what the family are eating but I wont have the potatoes etc.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I'm getting more confuzzled by the minute!! Have been reading a 'You are what you eat' book that I got from the library a couple of weeks ago as well as my IPD book & I don't know if I'm coming or going?! Both books make perfect sense to me but don't advocate the same eating plansYou know when you wish you hadn't started something ...............
It can be confusing. I'd probably pick the one I trusted more or preferred the program of. IE Atkins put me off because of the induction phase but Dr D's seemed less hassle and easier, I was sure it would be easier to stick to. It is.
And now 12 months or so in I feel I know enough about myself and the options of low carb that I could do Atkins induction if I wanted. Look at what I've been posting - very few carbs. May well get the Atkins book and give it a read. Could be that a spell on induction is just what's needed
Try just reading one at a time and write down your thoughts at the end of each. Might help you make up your mind easier. Maybe:rotfl:

Does treading water count as exercise, alias??
Hope you feeling better today btw, I don't know enough about salt/mineral levels but it does make you wonder if drinking that much water had an effect?? We need a science geek - come on Mercy- tell us what you think.
In the meantime, I would ease off drinking that much water in such a short space of time, just in case.0 -

Hmmmm, Dr D, that's another one I could consider?! :rotfl:

Bodily mineral differences induced by water would be affected by many things. State of mineral level in body to start with, could exacerbate an already existing problem. (see mazzers posts about low potassium, we don't all automatically have the same of everything) State of bowels, trotts/bungs have a lot to answer for (when I changed to full carb diet on hols got terrible guts and sicky feelings, plus poo went sticky n stunk to high heaven, not like me). Sudden water toxicity, can't see 1 n half litres doing that really, although it was a lot at once. probably best to spread it out more in day.
There are many other things that could affect us with dizzyness than too much water. Bugs can do it, feeling run down cos you've been eating all the wrong foodsMenstrual cycle, different times for different people.
Standing up quick.
As for craving crisps, if it was a carb crash due to insulin pumping in there to sort out a carb intake then crisps would sort that out quick smart. For the carb count, not the salt.
If none of that makes sense, don't have a go, I only know how to make paint:rotfl:

Mine has fallen by the wayside
For now
Cross trainer, what cross trainer... oh the one i bought off ebay and have used three times
I had noticed little missys excercise too, and it made me want to do mine, but i still haven't made the effort tho
p.s. :rotfl: at fat carby face.. it tickled me :rotfl:0 -
By the way, i dont usually get hungry and sometimes forget to eat (only since LC) but today i am starving. Had tuna for brekkie, mercys fudge and a sausage for lunch and am hungry again.
So my point is, we all feel differently at certain times of the month, it could be a drop in hormones after totm ( i can make an excuse for every day of the month ) so sweet and alias, it could be that you are having one of these days and it may be easier next time you try
Right, i am off to get food, if my body wants it, it can have it, but only lc.
Dont want my bum looking like this on the beach at summertime0 -
Loving the photo Mazzers, massive bum but quite a small waist!!
Sweets I agree with Mercy u need to pick which diet you are going to do and stick to it, trying to follow 2 diets will be confusing and a lot harder. I started with Atkins but am turning to Dr D's now as its less restrictive and easier to stick to - for now anyway.
I've also upped my excercise in the hope I will lose a bit more weight so did a 6 mile run last night on the treadmill and have got an Aerotone class tonight. Now I'm just about to shine my halo!!!! LOLStarted Atkins 22/02/09 - total weightloss 11lbs:j0 -
