Shelia - eggs dont have carbs do they? maybe eggs only have the carbs that are deducted over here which is why they are showing on fitday??? i dont know, when i put in a days worth of food and i had roughly worked out what i thought it was, it said similar so i thought it ok. i dont use it often just because i cant be bothered putting stuff in and searching.
i am having pizza for tea. instead of a base i put mince and hot sauce in the tomato sauce. its really nice. i did top it with lots of cheese, pepperoni, ham, chicken, onion, olives and slices of tomato.
There is a very small amount of carb (sugar, not fibre) in egg white, but IIRC it's only about 0.2g(?) per egg.
Anyone tried cooking their eggs 'inside out', it's very weird. 60C for 60 minutes and you get a verging on runny white and a creamy yolk. It's to do with the different proteins setting at slightly different temperatures. (Messy when you open them LOL)Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Gloomendoom - how is the weight loss going? Interested to know if IF works?
Well that the funny thing, although I have changed what I eat, I haven't changed my eating patterns at all since before LC'ing. I have always not eaten breakfast or lunch... even when I was putting on weight!
As far as how the weight loss is going, it is still fairly consistent at 1-1.5 lbs per week with the odd week long stall. I'm not sure that my IF eating style has much to do with it though.
I've restarted my exercise routine too. Mrs G was putting me to shame.0 -
daska - I got the 0.6g from fitday + it says that in my carb counter book. Same here

Seems that there are different counts for everything depending on where you look!!
Gloomendoom - well done on the consistent weight loss and the exercise :T Good to have someone to spur us on!!
mazzers - noticed you lurking, how is it going?0 -
Mercy - when are you going on holiday and how is the anti cig campaign going?
The hols are towards the end of next week. Switzerland to visit 1 of the best friends I've ever had :j and her Bloke n Children, obviously :rotfl:
The not smoking is just like it's normal nowAm not 'ceremoniously' washing all the (really quite clean) ashtrays at the weekend, I'm just doing it as it should be done:). Putting the souvenirs away and donating the rest.
Funniest thing. Been noticing a smell in my back room, not a bad smell just unusual. It's a room of all things - where I dry the laundry, feed the cats, paint things, store things, tins, stuff. Lots of cupboards.
Opened the top right cupboard to stash my hoard of lighters recently found - always kept my baki things in there along with dried stuff. Smelt the smell - it was curry concoctions in powder form - all sealed up likeI had never smelt it in all my passings past that cupboard! (until I quit tobacco)
So apparently my smelling is better. And my cupboard smells of curry so much it gets into the room!
This is the only thing I've noticed yet but it's nice. I've not noticed the scent of curry-in-potentia for 2 daysWe get used to things too damn quickly, apparently

Hi all!
I'm a big protein and salad eater.
Noticing the posts on glycogen dumps from the liver when 1 has lots of protein.
This could be why I've not lost anything in many months, makes sense. Will embark on more fat, less protein for a coupla weeks - hols permitting - and see if that helps.
All for something to help

What?? Well this could explain a lot. How annoying!
But thanks for the info:)0 -
SHEILA54 - would eggplant bacon possibly substitute for something a bit more bread/cracker like with your scrambled eggs? I've never made it myself, and I'm not likely to now as it's a nightshade vegetable, I just came across it while browsing. (Obviously you'd ditch the maple syrup the recipe calls for.)Eat food. I agree! Most wholeheartedly.
I love meat and do generally favour more meat and salad at the mo - and in general.
Anyway, changing things could work out cheaper, until they (for 'they' read -deathmongers) put a tax on it
So for me for the next 7 days. Coconut oil before breakfast and again at t time.
Will make Cococandy and supplement myself as and when.
No hardship there then:D
Cococandy can be found on 1st page in recipe list. Add what you like. Within reason - it's all about LOW CARB
I may well be adding peanut butter and a little dark chocolate. Also, some groung flaxseeds. I like the nutty flavour and the texture.
I know some can't do flax. The beauty of this is that you just add what you want.
Be happy, you're already lovely:D

Got some really bad news yesterday, have sight-threatening retinopathy in right eye. So for anyone with high blood sugars, please do yourself a huge favour and cut out as many carbs as you can plus the artificial sweeteners, the ready meals, takeaways etc.
I feel really angry because I've been taking my meds, eating lots of veg, barely any carbs let alone takeaways or ready meals and for most of each day my BG is normal like as if I didn't have diabetes and BP, trigs, cholesterol all excellent to boot. Didn't stop it from happenng. And I don't even have a whopping huge BMI either I'm down from size 22 to size 16 now.
That's why I want anyone reading this to takeaway the message that if you have a high BMI you're insulin resistant and headed for diabetes unless you DO something (other than putting head in sand and reaching for another cake).0 -
Edwardia - sorry to hear that, let's hope that they are wrong!!
Have another extra big hug ((((((((Edwardia)))))))).xx
Well done to reach size 16, I am an 18 - 20 top and 20 bottom and would love to get to your size.
Mercy - glad that it is going well and you can smell againYou are also a lovely, caring person xx
Balance for today
125.6g fat
43.0g saturated fat
22.5g polyunsaturated
46.1g monounsaturated
32.9g net carbs
82.2g protein
21.1g fibre
I have been reading up about protein and different websites seem to think that, for my size, I should have between 74 and 120g protein so am keeping it nearer the lower end. Do you think that the fat balance is right as I still worry, due to indoctrination?
Have a good evening all and enjoy0
