    Hey Mercy!

I'm lucky that my garden is a sun trap from dawn 'til dusk... though gotta say, not so great right now shining off the puddles of sewage  I wouldn't mind so much but there's nowhere to sit; every bit of patio and bench is covered in dried sh!7 _pale_

Urrgh! Sorry about that huni, must be rank. Have you tried growing plants instead? Only codding :) My Bro had that last autumn / winter, blocked drain (and lots of rain) all came up in theirs. Is that your prob? They just had to wait but got it all away eventually and had to thouroughly de-vile the whole area. Still, Bro gowing lotsa veg now and their plumber said due to fixing, if there's a prob like that again it should be with next door :)

Funnily enough, this being my first sunny time in North facing yard this year, I got rid of what I thought was all the cat !!!!!!. Sadly no. Twas ok for about 45 mins but then the sun caught a patch I'd missed  Heyho, I've smelt worse :) and it was only a prob when the breeze drifted a certain way ..... :)

Red wine, a known time limit and a good book did a lot for my savoir faire :):):)

Kind of, yeah... the workmen are in but they won't tell me what's going on, extremely frustrating for someone like me! So I don't even know if I've got a sewage drain at the moment :rotfl:. A note to say "flush away" or "don't flush" would have been nice

I'll live :) The vegetables are thriving actually, the ones the chickens left behind anyway...

Hiya again, finally caught up. Glad there's a push for good stuff from monday. I'm up for that and will start posting menu's and extras. Stopped doing that as I felt I was concentrating on food too much. Did a working weeks meal plan last week and didn't shop again til friday. Worked well as I wasn't tempted by shop.

Nerdy - you can't try things 'for a couple of days' and expect to see any change, do it for a week or two to see if things improve,

Badger = beautiful, and don't you forget it!

Mazzers - glad you like the muffins too. No good without splenda, and the amounts depend on us so takes a little time to work out.

Sweets, re muffins, should be ok whisking all together. I'd just soften the butter a lot first. And what you were saying about portion sizes, I thought the same. When eating, take your time. Find out when you are full and stop eating. Put knife and fork down between mouthfuls and chew food properly. I eat less now than I used to and don't feel I've missed out. Don't feel 'stuffed' either but 'pleasantly full' Then all you gatta do is adjust meal sizes according to what you didn't eat. Yeah, that's all :)

Roll on Monday! Thanks Alias for getting us on track!

OK, in the spirit of things, I'm going to post my meals and snacks for last 3 days.

    Friday

    snack - cheese and mayo
    L - smoked salmon/cream cheese/mayo mix on thick lettuce
    D - nothing
eve - 5 pints of cider
supper - (at 3am saturday:))coconut muffin and cream

    Saturday
B - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon
    L - nothing
D - ribs with mayo and salad
eve - half bottle red with 100g dark choc (pigged out a bit there)

    Today
B - scrambled eggs and brie with smoked salmon and black pepper (lush)
L - half a bottle of red and lots of sun

Not posted for a bit, so much to say!

    Turkey breast a la Mercy

1Lb or thereabouts turkey breast cut crossgrain into 'stir fry' type pieces
    1 veggie stock cube
    butter
    olive oil
    little boiling water
    soy sauce
    worcester sauce
    mixed herbs
    any other seasoning you like

add all but turkey to large frying pan or similar.
    blend with spoon
add turkey pieces and fold over to get em covered in sauce.
basically stir fry until all cooked.
I then put mine into a casserole and into 150'C oven (I was cooking belly pork so that's what I had) and stirring every 15 mins gave it about 40 mins.
Mix up well and allow to sit. All will soak up juices.
When cool, drain and set aside for lunches or munchies!

    Yum!

I find turkey breast can be a bit dry. Done like this it's not and it's something I can take to work easily.

    And now, finally, my dilema.

Met up with a male friend on friday for his birthday pi$$ up.

Thought there'd be more than me there. There wasn't. Apparently I was on a date. I like this man but not really like that. Think I gave out mixed signals as I'm very huggy etc. Anyway, glad I didn't take my glasses along and was wearing contacts. We ended up at his (which we've done countless times before) but he kept pouncing on me. Good to have the old 'I'll go blind if I don't remove my contacts' argument, backed up with the fact I'm pretty blind without assistance anyway. When I couldn't get through to taxi place on first go he's all 'it's a sign!' And I'm all 'yeah, that I need a new taxi number!'

Anyway, got away. Think this is another friendship ruined. Why do men in their early 40's think that just cos they're desperate you might be too? Just not in the best place now over that one :)

Heyho! I'm free! Though it was touch and go for a bit there :)

Glad to be able to bore you's with this, dunno who else to tell. Especially as 1 of my best 'mates' has gone wrong!

    Ta

    Well chuffed!

Got some of the water balance tabs, thanks kev, but only taken first dose this morning so not seen owt yet.

Am off as it's quite lonely talking to yourself unless you know, for a fact, you wont get a reply :)

  • Oh Mercy, that's such a shame about your man friend. Sorry, did that sound rude?! :o Anyway, he obviously likes you a lot, which is flattering, but if you don't feel the same way then he needs to be told. It's difficult if you don't want to lose him as a friend but if he is a friend then he will understand. I don't necessarily agree with you thinking you were giving him mixed signals - sometimes people just hear what they want to hear iykwim:rolleyes:. Hope you get it resolved chuck.

Aww, that's gutting when that happens :( How long have you known him?

Of course, the obvious bright side - at least you are getting noticed! Evidence of being a sexy lady

  • Thanks for posting your menus & turkey recipe Mercy, my meal planning is still a work in progress :o

Was planning on eggs for brekkie tomorrow but had to use them up making yorkshire puds for dinner today as youngest daughter decided to invite her friend & I had nothing in!! Bit embarrassed really because this friend is used to proper Sunday Dinners at her house & she just got mince & tatties here!! With weird looking yorkies!! :o
