Do we actually have to do anything specific today? I have got £100 in a separate account and I have read the boards.

Practice run? Post the spreadsheet figures here and I will check them to make sure you've got it.

How are you getting on? I haven't managed to get off the sofa yet :o

I've mada a start but it is like the Tardis in here:rolleyes: I need a couple of bookcases but I don't really want to spend any money and I don't want to buy anything for this room as eventually it will need moving when I leave. I am going to compromise by getting one cheap bookcase and sending some books to the charity shop, so I need to try and get that sorted out this week.

I have done some dusting, tidied my food cupboard and the fridge, thrown out some old toiletries, put some things aside for the charity shop and filled 3 bin bags:o with rubbish. And it still doesn't look any better:confused:

Spreadsheet figures? :o I haven't actually planned a bet yet, I assumed we were all going to do it together to start off with. Are we all just choosing our own bets? What do I need to do next? I have an account with Betfair, do I need to join another specific company as well?

I don't know where everyone else is today. How about for now, as a practice run, see if you can find odds at Coral and Betfair that are suitable, put them in the spreadsheet, and work out how much return you'd make - say on a £10 bet? Don't sign up to Coral though, just look at the odds.

    Norwich v Sunderland.

Back Sunderand at Coral 1.728. Lay at Betfair at 1.83.

    Profit of £9.23?

I know what you mean. I should really get my new motto tattoed on my hand or at the very least written on my purse!
Still i'm going to draw a line under it, I've a cheap week coming up as nothing fun planned at all but just as well really as have big weekend.
I need to do some urgent matched betting to recover my £60!

So I think tonight I shall:
    1) look for and post another good practice bet with Coral
    2) Find out what the best deals are with Coral
    3) Get myself ready to start for real.

    Here are my MB questions:
    1) It seems like it is a bit complicated to sign up for betting sites, do you have to send off copies of documents and things to them for this? How long does it take to get signed up? If I work it all out today - when can I realistically start for real?
    2) With betfair you just have to have the risk part in your account - ie the bit the other person would win rather than the bit they would win plus the value of their stake?
    3) My understanding is that you are looking for back and lay odds as close as possible so really that doesn't matter if you are looking at a match several hours before kick off or just a few minutes before. And probably it is best dto do a few hours before in case I make a mistake and need to rectify it??
    Thanks!

ps TDQO - there is no way I'm ever gonna start a quilt making business! although that might be Xmas gifts for the next few years! They are quite hard to do and I am a bit slap dash when sewing which isn't ideal. Still should be good at getting me to sew in straight lines! ha ha!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Sorry, got distracted. I am useless.

There's something wrong with that figure. Bear with me.

ok my spreadsheet says this. Is something different in yours? I know it's only 1p different but I can't work out why  :

    Free Stake ………. £10.00 ………. Stake forfeit ………. £0.00

    Back Odds ………. 1.728 ………. Back Commission ……….0 ………. Back Return ……….£17.28

    Lay Odds …….....….1.83 ………. Lay Commission % ……….5 ……….Lay Risk ……….£8.06
…................................................................................................……. betfair balance must exceed this

    Back Profit ……….£9.22 ………. Lay Profit ……….£9.22

    Lay Stake ………. £9.71
…................…….type this into betfair - there must be at least this amount being bet by people for the bet to be matched

    PROFIT ……….-£0.78 ………. PROFIT ……….-£0.78

lol - luckily the spreadsheet does the maths. You only have to type in the odds you've found, and how much the bet is.
