You are definitely in full sage mode, and those are more wise words about getting rid of the things that suffocate and overwhelm to make room for the new. :A That's really inspired me to gather my weapons of mass clearance and muck out the study this weekend.

Hollyberry, I have checked your sig and you appear not in debt, and from your posts you appear to not be single either. This thread is called Single and in Debt. Hmmm. I have decided in honour of your brilliance and loveliness and the fact that you get the humour on here that you must immediately be awarded Single and in Debt Honorary Status. Hello my fabby friends & welcome to clarabella
wow sarah - please would you & your roll of binbags come to my house - although I have to say that my bookcase appears to be only full of books. Howeve, I do believe that this is the only place in the place that only contains the appropriate items & yes that does include the cooker
I've had a friend staying which has completely & utterly scuppered the diet. There have been incidents aplenty inlcuding strawberry cornettoes, chicken mayo baguettes, pasta & coffee. I do actually feel very bloated & cross with myself but when someone else is buying & cooking it feels rude to refuse .
Family members have been very very annoying - either wanting to whinge at me or borrow money & all I've wanted to do is come on here & rant . I'm all calm now & going to have a really fun day out tomorrow which will help me float the through the dreaded family event on saturday  then I'll have to get up at 6 on sunday to hide eggs all round the garden & then hopefully life will return to normal again
Sarah - renew that passport immediately, how tragic if you met Mr. Perfect who wanted to whisk you away & you had to decline :eek:0 -

AwwwwI am deeply touched. I am very flattered at my Honorary Status, and will do my best to conduct myself in a befitting manner. May I now relax, make myself a coffee, and put my feet up on the sofa?
Seriously, I am a fine stress bunny at present, and you are all a brilliant antidote - I wish there was a way to bottle and market the essence of Single and In Debt as a medicinal but heady tonic. I'm going to be made redundant in a couple of weeks time, and the whole process is carp; I really wish they would just get on with it. But I will, when I have tidied, painted and sorted this large monstrosity of a house, finally put it on the market and eventually have my lovely B&B in the country. If this had all happened to me 10 years ago, I would have been in debt now, as I simply wouldn't have had more than a month's money in the bank. I guess that's the only advantage to being middle aged... (there was a very scary moment when I found out that my hair didn't just have natural blonde highlights, there were grey hairs too:eek:).
To add to the true confessions nature of this post, I am actually very good at being single and enjoyed it tremendously. My OH is a lovely, but I had to wait a long time for him, and there were some particularly warty and malodorous frogs beforehand.
Sarah - I only wish there was something edible on my bookcases. As OH has given up chocolate for Lent, I decided to join him, and I think I am starting to hallucinate. Only 3 more days to go, and I have promised myself a tub of Hotel Chocolat Milk Chocolate Sultanas in Rum. Excuse me while I dribble... Only problem is that they have so much alcohol in them, I don't think I dare polish off the whole tub on Sunday; it would probably equal my normal units for the month and I might prove uncontrollable. :rotfl:
Edit: Awww - thank you too Shoe Gal and Lula. That's lovely.0 -
Dear Hollyberry,
sorry about the redundancy, it is grim when it drags on
With regard to being single that was a very uplifting post; there are indeed many malodorous & warty types out there & not everyone follows the traditional path. I have an aunt who had various warty ones for years & found her prince in middle age, married him & jetted off to live in the sun :j. Although she never had her own children she has been a much loved aunt & her advice, comfort & sanctuary much sought over the years by myself & my siblings. She is also well travelled & had the time & money to indulge her creative & sartorial leanings while being single
There are many many benefits to beingle Single And Fabulous0 -
Grrrr  Was too lazy and tired to cook, went to the 24 hour drive thru:mad::eek: Had to throw half of it in the bin as just could not eat it and feel very full and cross with myself. Why do I do these stupid things?

Ooh, I had one of those aunties too:D I totally agree how lovely and kind they are an how brilliant and interesting their continent hopping lives are. I just don't want to be oneI want my own things and no matter how fabby their lives were, I have a different plan for me. I hope.
When I was at the dentist I read an article in a magazine by a single woman who finally married for the first time at the age of 43. She said that all single women who are long term single are spoilt. Not that we choose to be that way, just that it is what happens. You just get so used to having your own way and doing what you want when you want and you get used to it and that married people can't understand it and are jealous. I think she may have a point as I have become so used to not having to accommodate anyone else and I don't know how I would manage it.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
