If I can give any of you advice/encouragement/motivation I would be really happy to do so... (and let me assure you that before I started to exercise I hated it and all involved with it!!!) It's finding something you enjoy and that doesn't seem like a chore that's the secret (and seeing your bum and upper arms tone up that's the motivator!!!)

That's the bit I struggle with, trying to find something that doesn't seem like a chore and also trying to find the time to fit it in, but then again I did somehow manage to find the time to pile on 30 unwanted pounds.

I like the sound of the motivator, I know I will be motivated when I lose at least 7lbs and can start fitting in things again, it's just getting to that stage that is so difficult.

The scales have shown a 2lb loss this morning, but I won't count it until the weekend when I weigh myself properly as it could just be the fluctuating 2lbs again, but am secretly hoping it will stay off and take another couple of pounds with it:D

    Fantastic work sarah :D

    welcome back silly & scared,

I so need you right now :o. I totally agree with what you said about exercising to stay healthy & be able to eat what you like. I used to gym 3 times a week & eat whatever I liked. since finally quitting smoking ( dont shout it was only between 3 & 5 a day ) nearly a year ago I have piled on 20 lbs  I recently spent 4 weeks walking at a fast pace for 2 hours a day & lost nothing  apart from the very same fluctuating 2lbs that sarah & I seem to be sharing - she loses it , I gain it  ). I've also taken up riding my bike again for at least an hour 3 x a week & cut out all bread, pasta & potatoes from my diet ... still nothing :(

I really cant afford gym membership or a trainer at the moment, so pleeeeeeeease help .

Hi Willsnarf :hello: how's you ?

    todays diet declaration :

Water & lemon, 2 cups of coffee ( + sugar , so excited in boots forgot all about sweetener but will try to do without :o) nuts - having removed all the raisins :A chicken salad & a red cherry yoghurt - I know, I know, sugar again )

I also bought glamour mag to try to inspire me back to thinness :D

    :D

    Raisins are just wrong!

    Today i have eaten...

mmm a croissant (but they smelled nice and I new it wasn't a NSD so just went for it!) A prawn sandwich, and wait for it ............... 2 apples, a pear, 2 clementines, a banana, 4 strawberries and some nuts. Completely stuffed now and can't even think about eating the JP that was supposed to be for dinner. :rotfl:

    Hi everybody :hello:

My declaration for today - cereal for brekkie, egg mayo and watercress sandwich (homemade too, very DFW!), raspberries, fish cakes and salad, 1.5 litres of water - and I have kiwi fruit for a snack this evening so quite a good day :D

Feeling a bit down about my debts today - don't seem to be getting anywhere and always seem to be skint  23 minutes of pointless conversation with Capital One today, achieved nothing - just a man reading from a script and not answering my question

  • Hi Sarah/Lula

The first thing I would say, seriously is GIVE UP THE SCALES! I haven't weighed myself since about 2001. Stop thinking about what you weigh (and getting demoralised by the 1lb up 1lb down thing) and gauge it by how your clothes feel on you. That's the start of it. I know that sounds nuts and does take a real leap of faith but it's a really good thing to do.

I am away for a couple of days, but how about we start to do a few sessions of body conditioning/toning (you should also do some cardio that gets your heart rate up a few times a week but jogging on the spot in front of the computer is probably not going to be very exciting!) on this forum? What does everyone think about that? even if you can only do 5 mins it's better than nothing and we can build it up.

Let me know if you're interested in doing that and I will try to work out the best way of doing it...!

I think it's a great idea to put those scales away. Not least because everytime you all decide to swap a couple of pounds around the country, they're getting stuck on me here in the Midlands. ;)

Shoe Gal - don't be down. Anyone who can stand a C1 automaton for 23 minutes needs a fine award for patience above and beyond the call of duty. And you ARE getting those numbers down. :T Not long till the sunshine holiday now. :D

Perhaps I should join the food declarations here. ;) Today was bran flakes, tea and orange juice for breakfast, lunch in a pub - mystery fish (relation of catfish) with prawns, capers, courgettes, mangetout, carrot, about 5 types of brassica, large and very strong coffee, a litre of water, one homemade cherry ice cream, dinner - a red pear, small piece of stilton, more tea, pineapple, dried cherries. However, the night is still relatively young.
