I'm here and despite someone mentioning House of Fraser last night I managed to log off without buying anything - even though there were some seriously nice jeans...

Well done skint spice. I haven't done anything money saving either today, v.bad. Trying to do a bit of tidying now, so I feel like I've done something. Did check quidco - no change, I don't know why I bother. Daren't check bank account. Too skint.

Good, are we all sitting comfortably ?

Lulas latest from the Plenty Of Fiascos site :

Mr. 'Ooooh I really like him  Posh Town messaged me to say he was fully recovered from his illness & please could he call ... all fired up with enthusuiasm & keen to put Mr. Camper Van & his Tent Peg behind me I agreed, He called, then called again & again & again , we chatted & some more & more again.

He was so lovely, he was full of wit, experience & tales to tell. We agreed that I should go round for dinner on saturday, he would make lasagne & salad I would bring some bread & strawberries & wine.

I arrived just after 7 as agreed & waited a good 5 minutes for him to answer the door. I said 'hello', he said 'you've taken ages to get here'.

I produced my contribution & was told to them through to the kitchen & find my way around :confused:. Unperturbed as yet, I asked for some glasses to put some wine in. He produced 2 rather grubby ones & when I pointed that out as tactfully as possible he told me to wash them up which I did, trying to air dry them so as not to have to use the grimy looking tea towel .

I had to open the wine & then went through to the living room trying not to wrinkle my beautifully made up nose at the damp & musty smell. He sprawled on the sofa so I made myself at home on the floor . The conversation was a bit odd, he appeared slightly dazed & confused so I politely asked whether he'd had a glass or two before I got there, he denied it & suggested that I get the dinner in the oven :mad:. I finally got the oven working & put the ready made lasange in & returned to the living room to find that he'd drunk my glass of wine as well as his . I was fast losing any sense of good behaviour & asked outright if he'd drunk it, trying to be lighthearted. He denied it. I asked if he'd like me to make him a coffee & he said No very bluntly. I was damn hungry & now just waiting for the perfect opportunity to get out of there. I served up the lasagne taking care to wash the cutlery first & as he got up to put a cd on he fell over :rotfl:. I ate my lasagne, packed my unused salad bowl that he'd asked me to bring & said thanks very much, I'm really tired, no, please dont get up , I'll see myself out & ran ... inwardly thanking my driving instructor for all those lessons that he insisted I practice reverse parking so that I can always make a quick getaway :rotfl:.

    I was home by 8.30.

I have no idea what it was all about & my suspicion is that he was a) very nervous, b) very drunk, c) a recovering addict or d) all of the above.

I was completley & utterly mystified by it all & had to console myself with some retail therapy new rug at £165 :shhh:

I have since returned to my sense, paid £100 off CCs today & hidden my pic on the site. The scary thing is I cannot find a delete profile button so fear that there is no escape from the bottom of the barrel :rotfl:

yes, go on laugh ... I am now

I don't totally get that, because I don't do pigsback, but it doesn't sound too good, so I probably won't bother. I'm too impatient for cashback it seems. Need to get my broadband sorted and earn some more though.

Got some money due from an insurance claim and that's taking forever too. I'm hoping to have over 500 pounds from insurance/cashback (i.e. money that I've got for 'free') to put towards my CC, but it's all too slow!

I'm glad you are laughing now Lula, sounds like he's got a drink problem which could explain a few things. Please don't go to anyone's house you don't know though - way too risky! meet in a public place next time... also much easier to nip to loo then leave!
