Hi gwen, saw your thread on M&S, didn't realise it was you at first and was going to point you towards it:D Some people are so rude:mad: Especially the one who thinks trying on bras is unhygienic
Unbelievable.

Hi!
I'm so glad to be home!! I posted on the Praise, Vents and I-can't-remember the-last-one board the other night. Oh my God, it was awful. I'm not sure if I put myself across wrong or the posters are quite vicious on there. I actually think it may be because the voucher was free (the M&S issue) and people were thinking, if the voucher was free what is she complaining about? Anyway, it was awful and I'm not venturing off DFW for a long, long time.
I've had a fairly busy couple of days at work and hence rather unproductive on the money saving. However, I checked quidco tonight and 20 pounds from Bank of Scotland has tracked. That is just over 50 pounds to come through from quidco now. V.pleased. I've been looking at new mobile phones. I need a new one, had it for years, it's rather battered now and I've started having problems with it and it's not charging very well. Looking at vodafone I can get a 10 pound a month contract which will be more than sufficient for me I think and get 90 pounds cashback. Its a 24 month contract. I feel a bit uncomfortable about that as I don't like being tied in for so long, but I doubt my usage will increase substantially. I'll have a think about that one.
Maybe I shouldn't mention it, but Oasis has a sale on. I bought some stuff on there today - eeek! The scarf I got weeks ago is now 10 pounds!! I got a vest top aswell and I actually can't remember what else. I tried to spend just on stuff I will use, but it was difficult. I was repeating 'clothes will not make you happy' over and over in my head. Oh dear. Other than that I really need to sort out my mortgage. I'm really scared I will end up paying some extortionate rate because I haven't sorted it out. I'm quite frightened aswell of making a terrible mistake with it all and I think that's putting me off sorting it, but I need to do it. Lots of reading and research to do.
Everybody seems to be quite upbeat here today which is great. Good news about the quidco money Sarah - will that go in the house deposit fund? You're doing terribly well with your diet, water etc.
ShoeGal - I've had a look at your diary. Shame about the guy, but he obviously doesn't realise what he's missing out on. Onwards and upwards and towards a guy who will see the f fabulousness.
makeup - Good luck!!! I hope it all goes well and you're not too sore afterwards. I always end up in hospital too, it's not nice having teeth out. Take it easy.
Hollyberry - Happy Birthday to Mother Hollyberry! More quidco money! Here's to quidco!!!
eco - I'm hoping I get an electricity meter, it was only till stocks left and it was free, so they probably had about 10 in a box to get rid of - lol. I might buy one otherwise. I'm certainly being a lot thriftier with energy since my DD increased. I want to get it back down.
Buffy - Have fun in Leeds!!
Hi TDQ, Bowski, Lula, Pink, Lucy and anybody else I've missed. Haven't seen much of Summer? Hope she's doing ok.

Well, it was going to go on shoes but I have been strong and it will go in my quidco account instead, will be about £550 in there with that since Jan 2008 so not bad for free money:jEventually this is going to be spent on something beautiful for my new house. :j
Agree with you about the other boards, I do lurk a lot but rarely post as lots of people are just there for the arguments.
I think the vodafone deal sounds good, £10 a month is a good deal and £90 sounds good. I know what you mean about a 24 month contract, that has always put me off, but minus the cashback it's £150 for 2 years so it would be hard to beat.
Have you tried the MFW for advice about what to do re your mortgage? They seem to really know their stuff.
Re M&S, usually lots of codes on the discount board, I recently got £58 worth on lovely underwear for £32 and free delivery, it's always worth checking.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hi gwen, it can be pretty scary outside the realms of DFW  Old Style is safe & friendly but there are many areas I just dont venture into. I tend to stay on the threads I know & trust.
I'm off to my bed & the pile of unread books that I discovered when I tidied my room
Hope everyone has a great weekend & my attendance here might be a bit sporadic again for a while - so many shoes, so much temptation :rotfl:
night night
lula
xx
ps - forgot to mention that I recently signed up to the same vodafone contract - like an idiot it was an impulse in the shop & as soon as I'd done it I remembered quidco
live & learn ... one day hopefully0 -
Hi
Sarah - 550 is brilliant. Good idea to save it for stuff for the house. You could buy a gorgeous new sofa or something.
It seems the other boards are scary. I had no idea, I thought everybody was friendly like on here. Fairly pathetic though to sit behind a computer and look to pick arguments with folks. I assume that's what was happening as when I challenged them to clarify their views and explain them, they all went underground?! Oh well. I'm going to write to M&S today. I'm disappointed as I was looking forward to spending that voucher and getting a little bit off some new underwear or something for the house. Never mind. I'll look into the discount codes.
I'm going to have a think about the vodafone offer. There aren't many phones to choose from on that deal, but I'm not really one for having the latest gadgets (I can't afford them!) and although I'd quite like a better camera and maybe sat nav, I already have a decent digital camera and I think sat nav's are coming down in price. I'd rather reduce my outgoings than have things like that on my phone.
Thanks for suggesting the MFW board. I might try that. I did post on the Mortgages board a while ago. There weren't many replies and now I can't find it to see if there were any more!
It's a shame about quidco Lula, I think we've all done it. I've forgotten several times to use quidco. I'm currently trying to convert my Mum before she renews her car insurance. Everybody I suggest it too though, seems to think it's some sort of scam?! 'There's no such thing as free money' Me - 'There is!!' Some friends I've managed to convert though were really, really impressed and wanted to know why I'd not told them sooner, lol.
Hope you're having good days, I'm off today, drinking coffee and trying to give myself a kick up the @rse to get something done.
Rosa - How did your event go? I'm sure you looked f fabulous with your new look! Any nice men??

Hi everyone,
just popping in to declare that I've done the washing, hoovering, sweeping, cleaning, letter posting, hair colouring & maltesering :shhh: only 7, so they make a nice flower shape
Now going to pot my plants ...
ps - Yes I've still lost 6lbs (even after the ginger biccie incident late last night)0 -
Hey All
Well I'm back and the anaethestic hasn't worn off so still feel reasonably ok although do look like something from a horror film.
The whole thing was awful and I started crying half way through, not because of the pain but because I was so sad to be losing another tooth. I had one out about 2yrs ago and it makes me cross and sad to be losing another one. I really should stop eating so much junk food and all those sugary treats.
I treated myself to a new book - Marian Keys 'this Charming Man' afterwards as I felt I needed something!
Gwen I'm sorry you had a horrible time on another board. I have noticed it a bit on other boards, I remember one womans complaint on the vent & rant board which sounded totally reasonable (husband had rubbishy coaster as part of Xmas gift from work and the first time using damaged her expensive coffee table) and some people were really vitriolic including someone who had a go for having expensive furniture?!!
Anyway hope everyone is having a good Friday.
Buffy - enjoy weekend away - sounds lovely!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
