    Morning All,
Forgot to list my 5 so here they are,
    1, fun to be with
    2, honest
    3, friendly
    4, f fabulous
    5, strong.
Bowski your right it is difficult, but we are all fantastic so it should be really easy, got another birthday bash to go to next weekend which I forgot about, so I'm in budget mode, I will be od but hopefully not much.
i was reading about the toys what used to really annoy me was videos, they watch it then shout at you to rewind them, then they have to watch it again and again and again, well my neice had them on as background noise, but the looks I got if I tried singing along to the jungle book, it's a wonder the damn tapes weren't worn out.

I don't normally get too excited about things financial, but I have to say that I am squeaking with joy that I have:

    - saved £114.94 on the house insurance
    - plus £25 Quidco

    :j :D :j :D :j

    Hi

Holly that's ace! I love seeing all the boring bills going down. Really motivates me to shop around - the cheaper they are, the more money for me!! I also love free money. I almost look forward to insurance renewal time because I know I can get cashback. God, how sad am I?

Talking of cashback though, none of it is validated yet - grrr and no signs of Halifax 50 quid cashback. Hurry up!!! Don't you know I have a credit card to pay off??

I had a cheap pedicure tonight. A fiver at the local college. She did a brilliant job and I'm going back for a manicure on Thursday. I'm really not doing very well on the money saving front this month and that doesn't help, but I was actually ashamed of my fingernails today. I'm going to see if I can find a nail file shortly, to try and give them a quick tidy till Thursday.

I think I've hit a wall with the money saving. I think my initial enthusiasm has waned. I need to give myself a big kick up the @rse and get on with it again, but maybe not tonight. I need an early night. How is everybody else doing?

    Gwenx

    Hey all,

    My good 5 for today:
    1) Being called wise by Hollyberry (cheers!)
    2) Getting the Glamour mag with freebie mascara
    3) Landlady finally getting us new microwave
    4) Jersey pots for my dinner
    5) Signing up to credit card that gives free flights (just hoping the t&c's aren't too awful!!)

Gwen - I know what you mean about running out of momentum with the money saving, sometimes it just seems too hard!

My day was fine, worked late to build up my flexi and I'm just watching a bit of TV.

I'm going to the opera with a friend of mine tomorrow night (£16 tickets so not too bad) - I'm not really an opera fan (which is a bit odd as I love all other art forms and go to theatre/art/concerts/dance all the time) but I know if I don't go with her, no one else will and she wouldn't go on her own. She's going through a lot at the moment so feel I should be a bit flexible...and I could love it!! But the flipping tubes are on strike so think central London could be a nightmare tomorrow.....

    Oh well

Hope y'all having fab time out there!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

Yeah, I need to get myself motivated again makeup. Enjoy the opera. Never been, but it's good to experience new things, you might enjoy it.

    And 5 for today:

    1. My mum being better (rain and arthritis are seldom good) - in fact well enough to cook lunch for me - yum!
    2. Being the kind of tired that comes from lots of fresh air and exercise, so an early night is sounding good
    3. £s saved on the house insurance, which is going into my beach fund (designed to pay for at least 3 days at the beach in September)
    4. A good rub down with the Sanctuary Salt Scrub tonight AND a Benefit Bad Gal Mascara freebie today AND a snazzy stripy bag AND a Cowshed make up bag - all freebies with magazines this month. My cup(board) overfloweth with pretties...
    5. A surprise set of photos of a friend's toddler who is clearly majoring in cute. Even if his nickname is HP (aka Honky Pants, His Honkfulness, Sir Honkington), so named for the power stench of his nappies...

Hope you are all doing ok tonight. Gwen - I know where you are coming from on the lack of momentum. I go through fits and starts with making/saving money, particularly as far as eBay is concerned. For me, I find it easier to go with the flow and just do shedloads when I am feeling motivated. Seems to work better for me than beating myself up to do it when I am just not with the program. Whatever works for you, I reckon. ;)

makeup - hope you enjoy tomorrow. What are you going to see? That's a fine act of friendship btw, and I hope karma repays you by getting you home easily. :D

Good to see you back, Lula, & hope you are finally going to get a bit of a break from work. How are the DDs getting along?

Wonder if TDQO is home yet, or still forming himself into a shape known only to those who have flown for 24 hours non-stop. (Never again without a stopover.)

Take care of yourselves, you fabulousnesses. X

Sarah I've just been readin up on Shoegals diary and where I'm upto you'd said about how you get to xmas and think 'if I'd started in summer I'd have been 2 stone lighter by now' (or something along those lines anyways lol) So..here's your chance. Just think...you can be 2 stone lighter by xmas if you start now...woohoo!

Sarah methinks you might like the saying I came across recently - think it's supposed to be Chinese but can't remember where I found it.

"The best time to plant a tree is always 20 years ago. The second best time is today."

I use it now for those 'oh my god why didn't I just get this sorted moments'. So that I just get on and get them sorted!

    5 sparkles...
    1) Getting home from work at a reasonable hour
    2) Somebody at work saying they think I should be promoted
    3) Lots of fab things to eat as I actually had time to get to Waitrose
    4) Smoked salmon pasta in particular (and ready for tomorrow's lunch too)
    5) Long hot bath
    6) Lush massage bar as body lotion which smells fabulous (so now so do I).

Am having a bit of a wobble over bloke at work as think am getting mixed signals... think he might be seeing somebody else at work now and am so cross with myself 'cos if I'd just followed up the first lot of signals I might not be single any more! [STRIKE]I never learn. [/STRIKE] I am not going to make that mistake again. If I think someone I like is subtly asking me out I will accept, not decide he can't have meant that or that the whole office will take the p***!

Welcome back Lula :j, have a fabulous Wednesday everyone

Hollyberry - Madame Butterfly - another friend who does like opera said it was really good and lovely music and the production was directed by Anthony Minghella before he died (his wife has taken over) so should be good. My friends have been very good to me when I have had troubles so only seems fair to reciprocate.

Rosa - wow - you had a good day, it is great when someone actually notices your work! Yay for appreciation!

And I love that proverb - which totally applies to me!

Well lunch is up again so see you all later (probaby tomorrow!)
