Hope everyone ok & sorry i'm not staying to chat ; having a 2 day family visiting for meals extravaganza & it just wears me out; I'm very out of practice with all the correct behaviour, cleaning, food preparing, clearing away & general hostess style stuff
Hugs to all & goodnight

Hello!
How is everyone? How were everybody's social engagements this weekend? It sounds like a busy one all round.
I had an awful day at work on Friday. Basically had a fairly heated disagreement with my boss about my workload, which ended up with us both turning an attractive peuce colour and me trying and pretty much failing not to cry in front of him. I retreated to my desk to fume with my headphones in while trying to churn out the never ending amount of work I'm meant to do. About an hour later, he comes up to me saying he's talked to his colleague and they have acknowledged I've got a lot on and they're going to try and ease it a bit (the action planned is really not going to make much difference), but at least he had conceded that I had a point. I was still fuming though. He was such a !!!!!!. To be fair I was expecting the meeting to go off like that, but I couldn't avoid it any longer. Anyway, I walked out of the office at 4.30pm without saying bye to anyone, which I feel a bit bad about, it's not my colleagues fault, but I just wanted to get out of there. Now I'm dreading tomorrow already.
Anyway, then my friend came to visit on Friday night, she let me vent and we cracked open some rose and put the world to rights. Yesterday we hit the shops (including Hotel Chocolat - mmm, yummy treats) and went to see Girls Aloud!! It was ace! Now I'm full of fried egg and bacon and reading the papers. Fabulous. I've pretty much eaten my body weight in carp this weekend, but never mind.
The whole job situation (i.e. working for a bunch of a*seholes) has just made me more determined to sort out my finances, so I have more freedom to look for something else (possibly lower paid) and tell them where to shove it.
How was the party makeup?

Hello
Gwen - aargh! I hate it when you dread going into work. Hopefully this week will be easier for you. Thank goodness you had a fab weekend though! Friends of mine are going to see the Girls in two weeks and are really excited. I'm going to Tings Tings on friday - was supposed to see them in March but gig was cancelled due to a power cut
Well party was actually good fun. Got there and had some vodka jellies - yum and then stuck to the vodka so a bit rough this morning but nothing a big stodgy cafe breakfast couldn't sort out. We danced a bit and chatted to quite a few of my friends work colleagues and we def had a better time than last year! We even put our taxi back an hour!
Got a few nice things planned for this week - visiting an old friend who I haven't seen for ages on Tuesday - and meeting her new daughter who was born in November. Then Wednesday have day off work as have a hospital appt for my teeth  but hopefully won't be there too long and then going to see a friend who is on maternity leave. We're going to get manicures...I guess you need to have nice nails for labour!!!! She is due end of May andI hope she doesn't break her waters or anything while we are out!!!!
Have become slightly obsessed by the Boots thread and am now ducking into boots at any opportunity to look for cheap things......obviously cheap things I don't really need.....I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Be very careful with that:D the Boots thread and all the bargains has led me to have around 200 unopened items which i don't need but were such bargainsI don't need another toiletry or make up item for at least the next 3 years and still I read it. Have 2 drawers and the top of my wardrobe full of the stuff:o

Hi all
I've had a fab weekend thank you, the wedding on Saturday was great fun and I hadn't seen the friends who stayed over for ages. Lots to catch up on and it was so nice to be able to have people stay. Also had fab cakes and girlie chat with another friend today so a good one all round.
BUT there is one thing that really, really bugged me this weekend and I'm going to get it off my (DD+) chest here so you lot can either, well, discuss or ignore as you please. WHY are some single people so obnoxious about it ?
I went to my friend's wedding on my own. As it happened, our mutual friends were there and stayed with me so I spent most of the day with them. I worried a bit about hanging on their coattails as they've only been married six months themselves, but they were fine about it and checked that I wasn't feeling left out and frankly I had a great time - I was laughing so much my face ached by the time we got to dessert. Even if they hadn't been there, I would have turned up because the bride invited me and she's my friend so if she wants me there, that's where I'll be. I might have booked a room at the hotel so I had somewhere to subtly disappear to if I had a wobbly lonely moment, but I'd have gone anyway. She and her new husband are both completely lovely and I'm delighted for them both that they're happy. I also went and watched and joined in the dancing later on and I chatted to various people I vaguely knew plus a few random other guests.
What I wouldn't have done is:- Turn up in a tight all over outfit with super plunging neckline - it's a family wedding not a nightclub
- Complain loudly about the choice of music. (They had a traditional Greek band, which I thought was great as it meant it suited both the Greek side and the older English relatives, plus we got to watch some traditional dancing.) The couple have more people to consider than just their age 20-30 so called friends
- Complain loudly about the lack of good looking single men present. Hmm, because any in the vicinity will really think you're such a lovely person when they overhear that! And the bride has no other priorities on her wedding day than to fix you up!
- Spend all evening in the bar, only talking to equally self-obsessed friends and basically whinging loudly about how you really need a boyfriend and hate being single, and are fed up with being told to join clubs because you won't pretend to like things and don't actually have any interests. Hmm, again sounding like a really interesting and thoughtful person!
Sorry about that, I'll calm down now.
Hope everyone has had a fab weekend without having to listen to whinging from self-obsessed eejits.

OK maybe I am just naive that I hadn't seen a skin tight catsuit at a formal wedding reception before...Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress
