Single and in Debt Part II

Hey Shoegal - that first week back after a holiday is a killer!!! Such a shock to the system to be getting up early, having to rush lunch, no mid-afternoon naps and no sundown cocktails
I'm supposed to be going to a party with my friend tomorrow night. He asked if I would go with him as he doesn't want to go on his own and I'm totally up for doing this - he is going to be my plus one at a Cornish wedding this August.
HOWEVER I went to the same girls birthday party last year and it wasn't very good and I can't believe we have to go through this again!!!
She is a good ten years younger than us and so all her 'home' friends are the same age (my friend works with her). She still lives at home so her parents go out for the evening...... and there was all kinds of silly but minor dramas last time...... I was just really bored and felt insanely old last time round
And I trying not to drink too much as I am getting really bad hangovers at present so can't even drink way through the darn thing!!!
Oh well - at least will score good friendship karma points and who knows - mightn't be too bad!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -

Hey makeup - what a good friend you are, sounds like a bit of a nightmare
I am having my nails done in the morning then watching United win the league (hopefully) on telly at lunchtime
Going to a corporate day on Sunday - free food and drinkNot a very diet friendly weekend
Have lost 2lbs this week :jSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
hi makeup, you never know it might be better this time!
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and really looking forward to it - the couple are lovely and I met two cute guys at their housewarming so hoping there will be a lovely single man for me!
Plus my friends who are also going are staying over with me, as it saves them a hotel. Very MSE for all as this also saves me a hotel or the cab/ petrol as they've said they'll pay for the cab fares. So my lovely new futon has pretty much paid for itself already.
Then on Sunday another good friend of mine is coming over, which is good in that I'm delighted to see her but sad in that she needs company because of a cancer scare. So we are going to eat extra fabulous cakes and drink lots of coffee and set all the world to rights and hopefully things will be OK.

Thanks Rosa and Shoegal
Yup could indeed be better than expected. Of course if not will come back on here to b*tch about it all!!!!
Oops - mean have robust & meaningful discussion about events of weekend!
Rosa - the wedding sounds like fun. Can't remember the last wedding I went to that had single men :eek: My sister met her husband at a wedding. She was sat next to him for the meal :T
sorry to hear about your friend - I def think cakes and conversation will help her feel better. Having the support of friends is invaluable.
Well have listed 19 books on green metropolis so feeling like have achieved something. Also ordered a £10 voucher from a survey site I do - I'm going to stop doing them soon, they are soooo boring and time consuming and been doing them for ages but have hardly any reward!
Have got £10.90 to go on Onepoll then can get my £40!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Just working what we have
I :heart2: the Daily Mash - it's the usual culprit when I'm found spluttering with giggles in front of my computer while supposed to be doing something else. The rest of the site is well worth a read too (my all time favourite - 'Britain Ignores Binge Drink Warning for 4,000th Year In a Row' :rotfl:.)

Evening, hope you're all well. I'm being a bit crap at the whole posting thing, mainly because I have a crate of beer and plenty of 'smoke'
On the plus side, I handed in a $900 expenses claim this week! Woo!The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha

Lula, I spent five mins in the car with a pair of tweezers this week coaxing out a car park ticket that was difficult to reach - all of £2.50 - but it did make me wonder that I can't claim that without a receipt and yet non-existent mortgages got paid...Mortgage OP 2025 £6200/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
