    Hello Y'all

Fee - enjoy the work jolly - I love stuff like that, all freebie and staying in nice hotel. Not that I get that with current job! (boo!)

Pink - good luck with your clothes target. Every so often I sort through my stuff and find lots of clothes that I had 'forgotten' about. It is almost like having new stuff!!!

Gwen - good luck on your date tomorrow.

I've been fairly quiet past few days.

My new subscription to Elle Decoration has arrived and so now need to find about £20k to buy all the lovely things in the mag that I've fallen in love with.

I'm getting a bit into the whole craft thing though and have bought a book (for £2) which is all about making bits and bobs for your home and refurbishing stuff, which I really like the idea of.

I have also read an article on Guardian.co.uk about decorating shoes using decoupage. I've done that before but not with shoes so am keen to try this out.

Well hope you fabulous people have a great evening xx
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Have you got time to try this out before Shoe Gal comes back from her hols??? ;)

I have a similar book - I'm thinking that I might decoupage a table at some point.

I have been out for tapas this evening, and feel/look rather like a boa constrictor trying to digest a large beast. Think it's time for an early bath & bed...and possibly a repeat showing of last week's Inbetweeners.

Ha ha - you are joking right Holly, Shoegal is only gone for a week and I'm the kind of person who starts a project and then takes about 3 years to complete.

If she had gone off backpacking for a year I might just about manage it!

However do have free weekend coming up....maybe weekend project is in order?? Hmmmmm......

    Hiya,
How's everyone doing on this sunny Thursday, going out Saturday night, but no other plans for weekend yet.

Lula like the sound of your garden, and it'll be great sitting out round your fire pit, my veggies are coming on nicely now just got a few more jobs to do, then all I will have to do is the boring weeding and watering.

Hello eco, whats the occasion on Saturday?? Hope you have a brill night!! Its my Niece's birthday this weekend so I;ve got her party to go to but thats it. Shouldn't be too expensive this weekend :)

I've been off work today but I've been doing my voluntary work, which inolved takin the little one out for a walk and we had a great time, the weather has been nice here. A bit windy but I didn't mind coz I only had a hoodie on and if it was really warm I would have been in a right stroppy 'I'm too fat and got f**k all to wear' mood!

I'm going to have a bit of a rant coz I'm hacked off! Yeserday DD knocked my phone into the bath, which isn't ideal but was an accident so I didn't go mad I just thought it'd be ok I'll claim on my insurance. Anyways I've been looking into claiming and it's going to cost me £30 excess, which to be honest just hacks me right off!!!! My insurance is through my bank and I pay £17 a month for my platinum account. For that I get £250 interest free overdraft, which to be fair is hardly interest free when i'm paying £17 a month!!! And it's hardly a overdraft anyways coz I;m living in it. Anyways I've decided as soon as my car is paid for I shall be getting rid of this stupid account. I was always intending to pay it off last but I'll be £17 better off a month. Why have I not reaslised this before?! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! glad I've got that off my chest I've been well mad about it today I feel loads better now! Thanks :)

Hope everyone's ok and having a good day ...

    Hi Bowski,
I'm just going out with a couple of friends to the local pubs on Saturday night, one of them is having laid off from work and in a bit of debt, he doesn't drink alcohol and he's had a bad year so were taking him out to cheer him up.

Thats carp about your phone, mines like an extension of my arm so I'd be gutted too, only it would probably be me who knocks it into the bath, which I've nearly done a few times, have you got a friend who's got an old one spare that they could lend you?

    Hi everyone,

I've been virtuous with my exercise again but fear not I'm sure it wont last.

I've actually been out of bed & doing yoga by 6.40 for the last 3 mornings & this evening we had a 40 minute long bike ride.

Trouble is I'm having alcohol cravings like you wouldnt believe & can predict that very soon a bottle of Gordons will leap into my trolley & refuse to leave & will then encourage a Schweppes duo, a whole group of lemons & a bag of salted nuts to join him :o

Sorry to hear about your phone Bowski - I dropped one in a cup of tea once, took it apart & then dried it out in the airing cupboard ;) It was fine, definitely ditch the bank account, that's a rubbish deal.

:eek: At lula doing yoga in the middle of the night....

Bowski - I've been doing the same thing, I've been shelling out what is now £12 per month for a fancy bank account which is pointless as it even includes roadside recovery and I don't have a car?? I thought it might be worth it for the phone cover and travel insurance but really by clever shopping around I could definitely spend less on those things. I was with Lloyds TSB but they finally p***ed me off too much and I'm in process of setting up with First Direct. My friend referred me so I'll get £100 and she'll get £50 once all up and running - hoorah!! :j:j

They have a special account thingy for £12 but no way am falling for that nonsense again!

I feel very lucky as have whole weekend stretching out in front of me but nothing planned! I love it!!! I hate routine and love the weekends for the possibilities and the freedom!

My ex has been on the phone quite a bit of late and I think he is keen to meet up at some point. Probably not a good idea though......

There's an exhibition I want to see so I'm thinking of catching that this weekend otherwise going to potter around and see what catches my eye so to speak!

Anyone else have fun plans for the weekend???

    Hi all :hello:

Hope you're well, just to say hello, sorry have been offline for a while but have been lurking and hadn't forgotten you. Will get to the thanks button in a bit.

Well what can I tell you for an update...

DF thing up and down as have managed to steadily pay things off, but am in middle of row with uni trying to charge me as a full time student which is logically nonsense so that's made a bit of a dent. Decided to knock the car loan out of the total as it's secured, and just count it as a bill. Work going well (touches wood) - they've confirmed they'll pay my fees and support me for a Masters course, just waiting to hear back from application so everything crossed. Even better, have explained that with the likely situation of what we take on next year it would be sensible to reflect new duties in my job description and upgrade me, which would make up for the cut in hours to do the Masters... and they haven't said no, in fact line manager supports the idea :j. I really do know how lucky I am in current general situation (however, confess to minor schadenfreude at all the eejits who spent years telling me how stupid I was to work in the public sector, underselling myself in order to do a job I find worthwhile).

Failed advanced driving test but was pleasantly surprised to find I didn't actually mind (most un-neurotic and not like me). I knew I'd be really nervous and didn't expect to pass first go, as it was the examiner said I was a perfectly safe driver just not slick enough to count as advanced. Since all I really wanted was a confidence boost, I figure being told I'm safe by a police examiner pretty much fits the bill. Decided not to retake it til I have more time to spare. And cash - am quite glad of the money now am not using 2 tanks of petrol a month on lessons.

Offically back at college which is eating into my time and rather stressing me but have remembered how interesting it all is and it's the last few months. And last couple of days stress probably rather more related to PMT :o.

Still single, haven't seen sexy Irish friend of friend in ages but developing friendship with guy at work and waiting for opportunity to find out if might be more. Social life reviving a bit - and going to wedding on weekend so you never know!

I'm with First Direct and can't fault them for customer service or the website, it's why I've stuck with them. Did try another bank but couldn't be dealing with a website that wouldn't show payments I'd already sent as taken out of my balance - am much too easily confused for that kind of carp. Agree the premium accounts thing is daft though, just not worth the money.

Well am off to get some beauty sleep and be all fresh to study tomorrow... night all

Hey Rosa - welcome back! :j:j You've been missed!

Glad to hear your update - all seems to be going well. I think to be considered to be a safe driver is the best thing ever - well done. Out of everything on the road, it's the most important thing!

Good luck with the rest of your course.

    Have fun at the wedding!!
