Hi all, am still feeling a bit carppy but it's all self inflicted, cannot stop worrying about funds at the moment, have transferred some more over from my savings to give me some breathing space but am v unhappy about dipping into the house fund.

I have been thinking about my shopping habits and I can still cut back further, eg. getting the value ranges of things, much cheaper than getting bogofs etc, need to try to really cut back as I am still wasting money. I have been reading a thread on the OS board about sneaky ways to save pennies and it is fab, lots of ways to cut back further. I need to concentrate on spending as little as possible without feeling I am missing out too much. I am going to hammer those debts:D

On the debt free front today I have read papers online, put coins in the piggy, had an LSD (got wine), store cupboard meals, checked pigsback and quidco and managed to fix both my ipod and set top box which decided to break on the same day. (Am not technical, just shouted a lot and refused to stop forcing them to turn on, in the end they both gave up and started working).

On the diet front, I have been eating off a side plate for the past few days, despite saying I would not spend any unnecessary money I went out and spent £6 on 3 nice plates. I have been using them for the last few days and I really have been eating less, I have been eating slowly and chewing properly and I do thing it is working. I weighed myself this morning and I am 4lb lighter than last week but I did manage to put those 4lbs on in a couple of weeks so I think it may be rubbish scales/natural fluctuation, but I have fingers crossed for a noticable loss by the weekend. Have had banana, apple, cheese salad, salmon sandwiches, crisps, coffee, tea and squash.

    Hope everyone is ok xxx

    Hey everyone,

good to hear from you Ossiereo & as to the 'blah' well, if we were all having fab fun all the time then this thread would be a tumbleweed highway

TDQ - you are more than welcome to garden chez moi when back this side of the planet :D I've gone a bit bonkers on the seed front now :o I've got hollyhocks, sunflowers & something else orange I cant remember the name of on my windowsill. It's become a bit of a battle / mission ; I take it quite personally if they dont germinate within 2 days

I will have that cottage garden. Saw a fab one earlier & now realise that I need to have peonies too.

I'm back on the wear my jeans agan mission too; apart from the half hour of yoga, walk to the next village & salad for supper I also went on a 40 minute bike ride this evening.

Will be wearing my stetson & doing the John Wayne walk tomorrow again :(

Sarah, hugs to you honeybunny, available for sympathy when ever you need me , just remember that you are truly F***ing Fabulous :A

silly me, you posted while I was still typing, psychic as well as fabulous eh ;)

Hi Lula, am very jealous of the garden, sounds fab, especially the fire pit, what a brilliant idea:D I can't wait to get my own garden, where I will grow everything and be rich due to constant free food. :D

I have been looking at my old internet shopping haunts (daren't look at the shoe ones:o) and of course seen a million things I want, I have set myself a challenge to get my debt under a certain amount, will need to reduce it by a thirdish and will reward myself with some of the nice things I have seen when I do it. Could possibly be done in 5 months according to snowball calculator, but that would be dependent on doing well at work, so we shall see. I cannot live without my treats:o

I second that Sarah. I am going to have a clothes budget, starting on my first pay day, 28th June. That day all serious clearing of debts starts. The car service and pushing of cards up to the hilt will be over and it's time to clear.
If only I didn't have a blooming £500+ car service and MOT coming up!

I can't wait to get clear, and I will get clear.

Hi Pink Twirl. don't shoot me and far be it from me to advise in the area of clothes spending, but do you need a clothes budget? I know from my years of overspending that I probably don't need anymore clothes for quite a while, I have enough to manage with for now.:o

Maybe you could look at managing without one for 6 months and use what you have and reinstate at a late date if necessary? You could throw the clothes budget at the debts and set a target, I think you said you were about 22k in debt? You could set a target of 15.5k ie reduce by a quarter and have a splurge then?

That's a fair point actually Sarah. That might be a good point to reward myself. I guess I have got tons of clothes, it is a bit of an addiction of mine, addiction being the operative word.

    It'll be tough!

Ok, I'm feeling brave, I'm going to go for £15K paid off before I buy anything new. That will take me until about Xmas to do but I guess 6 months, well, it will fly by.

Feel like biting my nails just thinking about it!

Thinking about it, I've been through worse things and had worse happen to me in life than not buy clothes. This is all for my future security as well.

No clothes until Xmas. I will have to keep coming on here and share in other people's purchases (or fantasy purchases!)

Oh my god, that is beautiful!

I'm starting to wonder where people get the money for these things?
