Chase! I'm going to be a nightmare over these next couple of months on the chase!

    Is there a chain etc?

As it happened, I got paperwork through from the solicitor last night asking for the basics of the sale.

There is no chain either side on this sale.

Hi again - a quick update and a question for the good people of MSE :)

Still waiting for exchange although apparently my solicitor has the contract and is doing a "report" for me? My best friend is moving in as a lodger in my spare room - I don't know how long this will be for or anything like that, but the solicitor needs him to sign something. Is this normal? It just seems strange that something on a casual basis like this will need a form signed?

    TIA :)

Hi again. I received the contract, transfer of whole of registered titles deed and other documents last week. However, the paperwork had spelled the address wrong (only a minor error - used an O instead of the U it actually is) and the deed sent out didn't have an area for me to sign). There was also a dispute about the fittings - carpets etc had not been ticked as either staying or going (they're staying according to all the estate agents documents).

I asked the solicitors to re-send out the information with the correct address etc - haven't had anything back yet, but just to clarify in my own mind, I shouldn't be signing anything until I receive all the information regarding fittings and the correct addressed contract etc, should I?
