Not yet - I assume that could be found out when the checks are carried out on leases, etc.0

Hi all, just a quick question really.
I am at the stage where my lender has sorted out a solicitor to deal with the valuation etc. Is there anything I can do in the time being for this? I don't know if and when I should be chasing up?
This is unknown territory for me now.0 -
Great news!! Do you mean to say that your lender has sorted a surveyor out? If you haven't already, get your solicitors instructed as the agent can then issue memorandum of sale to get the ball rolling with all parties. Other than that, bite your fingernails and wait for the valuation to come back! Also, your solicitor will confirm service charges.Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

I've taken the solicitors and surveyors offered by the Halifax as I will get my legal fees back as part of the mortgage. They've instructed the solicitors as of yesterday, and I've had a call from the surveyor today asking if I want the Homebuyers Report (for only £150 on top of the basic valuation, I guessed it would be foolish not to) and they're planning on getting the valuation/HBR done either tomorrow or Friday.
I think this is the hardest part - the not knowing!!!0 -
This is the stressy bit, the good thing is that as it's a repo it won't last long! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you lol as soon as the survey's back everything will move surprisingly quickly.Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

Just had a call from the EA - apparently, there has been a higher, cash offer on the property. I might be feeling cynical but this is happening after I a) handed them my mortgage in principle document (which has a figure of a lot higher than I am willing to pay), b) decided I was going to not use their financial services and c) had the survey done.
Am I feeling cynical?0 -
Reoffered higher - they thought about it and asked the others; decided to go with the other buyers. I am feeling very deflated now.0
