Glad to hear you all had a good time, and you have the photos to prove it :rotfl:
I was thinking of you all on Saturday, I went to Southport and because it was gorgeous clear day you could see Blackpool, well the tower and the Big One.................ohh yeah, I could have sworn (no pun intended, well maybe a little one) that I could very faintly here the posh cries of the F word....could it have been BRzl by chance :jI also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

Hi all
I had a great time meeting all these OSers and was really glad I made the effort to go, particularly thanks to JackieO who gave me a lift there and back and did not even want any petrol contributions (wonderful generous woman!).
Everybody was really lovely!
Caterina
(who now thinks she is maybe a bit too hard-core and militant in her OS efforts!!!)Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Lovely photos! Glad you all had a great time, only sorry I missed it, though I would have to find someone to share some red wine with! You all seem to be drinking white! (or ale in squeakys case) Maybe next time! Would have sent thanks but the thanks button seems to have disappeared while I have been away!
You were very brave to go on that ride, I saw it when I visited my daughter (who used to live in Blackpool) and noooo way would I go on it! Not surprised bargain Rzl used some colourful language!
Did anyone go see the ice show while there? It was great last year! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

You all look like you had a fab time, We're not at all jealous. Honestly!! Will there be a OS book launch we can meet at or do we need to start planning the next meet now? And I will be comming next time!!!!
(I still think Chickadee is Anthea Turner in disguise, probably nicking our ideas for her next series:eek:)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
I think that we ought to organise a South England meet at some point, since we had York last year and Blackpool this year, both North-ish! I have the contact for a good and cheap hotel in the Isle of Wight (Shanklin) - perhaps we could all meet there?
London also good for me as it is where I live!

I think an official OS meet for the launch of the book is a great idea.. (Martin, I hope you're reading this
)
chickadee is far too gorgeous to be Anthea Turner IMO.
Also, I forgot to tell you - we are all total babes too, slim and sexy (but not on chick's scale obviously - we were all wearing our money-belts under our t-shirts. :rotfl:
And it's OK - we didn't drink white wine - that was our winning bottle of bubbly (which I didn't drink but in true MSE style, passed onto someone else (Nels maybe? LOL)0 -
Ive thought about you all weekend, you look as if you had a great time.
NO-ONE looks at all like I thought they would, (except B Rzl as she has posted a pic of herself before)0 -
I think you've probably all gathered by now that rollercoasters are not really my friend
But I deserved it cos I'd printed off loads of BOGOF vouchers for Pleasure Beach wristbands and then forgotten to bring them with me!
That TM on the other hand - she'll go on anythingNot only was she the only one to brave the Pepsi Max Big One (this is her going over the top!), she also went on the Tango Ice Blast (this is her as well)! Nelski was brave enough to join her on the Revolution, which is the one that goes upside down - but TM will have to show you the photos, cos I was stationed on camera duty with her camera, right by the upside-downy bit
And sickeningly enough, TM managed to come off every single scary ride with her hair looking perfect and glam:rolleyes: whereas me and Nels were quite another story! She also looked v. glam while having her fake tattoo done
(to the extent that she kept catching the eye of passing men
I have had an absolutely fantastic time and although it was great to meet everybody, I know especially that I'll stay firm friends with TM (nutter), Nels (up for anything - except the Big One) and Jackie (my new mum - big hugs Jacks!!!). The morning I spent with just TM & Nels, doing very silly things at the Pleasure Beach, was the most fun I've had in years :j :j
Here's a lovely piccie (classic Blackpool shot) of TM, Nelski, Caterina and Jackie just before we parted company on Saturday morning (that's when we went off to the Pleasure Beach and Jackie & Caterina headed off on the tram).
And another lovely piccie of the Pleasure Beach crowd including those who turned up later
Fab meal in an Indian restaurant last night - somebody on here recommended us a fish & chip restaurant but they were CLOSED, so we went for a curry instead. Yum yum - four courses with all trimmings for £10 a head.
Some of us had a nice time having a wander on the beach this morning and saying hi to some donkeys- Squeaky had a very old style ice cream cone
Thank you to TM for organising it all, Jackie for the lift, and Caterina for supplying tea and biscuits to me and Jackie when we dropped her off at home. And thanks to MonkeyGirl for plucking up the courage to come, Apprentice Tycoon and Chickadee for coming even though they could only manage a few hours, and Nelski for being a hoot(yes, the blue hair's real)
Ooooh it's been fabulous (and I do only swear when I'm on roller-coasters - honest!!!)
Bargain (f*****g) Rzl xxOperation Get in Shape
