Old Style Meet - 2006

I'm back and I have a photo! it was taken at the pleasure beach, left to right we have chickadee, bargain rzl, nelski, ticklemouse, monkey girl and squeezing in on the end is squeaky

The 2 missing OSers, caterina and jackieo had gone off to Cleveleys for a charity shop trek, I met them later back at the hotel but my camera had objected to being taken away from home and would only hold one image in the memory card when it normally holds about 80, I don't know what thats about, so I just have the one shot.

I only was there for about 6 hours so I don't know about frday night or indeed saturday night, I'm sure the details will emerge over the next day or so.

It seems as if everyone was having a good time in their own particular ways with some chatting some on the rides and some shopping so something for everyone. You'll be glad to know that squeeks is enjoying his rest.

I'm sure there will be more gossip tomorrow when everyone makes it back.

No Ancaster didn't make it unfortunately - gossip, hmmmm, I don't think that there was anything earth shattering, well I didnt hear anything incriminating to report back.
I know that TM was the only one brave enough to go on The Big One (the mammoth scary ride)
I also know which is the worst cafe in Blackpool, or Lancashire even - oh what the hell it was the worst in the country :eek: that was where squeaky, monkey girl and I went for lunch before we met the thrill seekers (all have matching 'tattoos' you'll notice) at the Pleasure Beach

JackieO and Caterina had a better lunch where they went by the sounds of it and jackie came back with some lookeelikee stardrops to take back home.
Chickadee and I both left at 6 ish, and I think that plan to go to the recommend chippy was still in place, apparently last night was a chinese and a long stay up in the hotel bar for certain OSers (I'm saying no more)

Don't worry, I'm sure there will be more leaks out tomorrow!

While I'm here I want to thank TM for arranging it all, it was nice to meet people that you only knew by by name, and not even their proper names at that!

Just to say it was a fantastic weekend and i would like to thank TM for all the effort she made to arrange it. Without giving too much away (cos i think we will be doing that later)

Squeaks is enjoying his rest and working his way through the John Smiths tin collection:D
TM did not bring her moon boots and has been universally described as nutty
Jackie O is now my new adopted mum and can walk faster on her stick than most people who where running in the Blackpool marathon today
Caterina did bring her slow cooker with her but unfortuatley didnt cook anything for us at all
Bargain Rzl swears like a trooper:D honest she does
Monkey has the most gorgeous engagement ring:j and the tiniest fingers i have ever seen
Chickadee is v v glam and will be dragged out for dinner soon by TM and me soon cos she lives really close
Apprentice Tycoon looks fantastic even in those dodgy mirrors at the pleasure beach

and that ladies and gentlemen is only the start - we have sooo much to tell;)

Look, it was really windy in Blackpool and by the time I had walked down the prom my hair was a bit wild and (quickly running out of excuses here........).

Anyway, my house isn't nearly as clean as hers!

I had a great time in Blackpool by the way. It was lovely to meet people so now I'll have an idea what they look like. I didn't do too badly at the "guess who's who quiz" when we met up either. The weather was kind to us but as AT said, we both left early so we don't have any gossip about what happened at night.

Bargain Rzl, Nelski and Ticklemouse were determined to get their moneys-worth from the Blackpool Pleassure Beach wrist bands and I think they were on a mission to do all the rides, well, not the scary ones. :eek:

I was able to reassure my DS, who warned me of the perils of meeting strangers from the internet, that they were really nice people and they weren't weird at all! In fact, you guys are all really lovely and it was good to meet you.
