I tried using the hotels.com discount code, but it came up with 'discount code not valid for hotel chosen'. Can anyone advise further on this as if I can use the discount I will save over £80
Thanks0 -
I used the hotels.com voucher code today and it worked for me. The one I used was HC3Trav10. Good luck with it.0

After telephoning hotels.com it turns out that the 10% discount is only available for hotels where you are charged upon making the booking for the hotel. In the other cases there won't be a box to enter the discount code.
The website states:
"Payment will be taken at the time of check out by the hotel unless the rate plan name contains "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE""
So unless the rate plan name contains "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE" you can't get a 10% discount.
Ultimately this makes sense but as in many cases this website is very much advertising lark
This information cost me 60p on the telephone, thanks money saving expert :mad:0 -
Hi
Has anyone followed the travelodge tip on here, and which is also now included in Travelodge's guide on their website where for longer stays, book each night separately to get the lowest rate.
I've done this, saving over £100 for a seven night stay. But does this mean I will have to move room each day? I've e-mailed travelodge but got no response. Not a great hassle, unless I have to have all of our stuff out of one room by 12 noon and cqan't transfer it until 3pm.
Please MSE, can you use your powers of persuasion and deduction to give me some reassurance, or at least let me know if my break will have to be planned around Travelodge's check in/out times.0 -

I think you just need to ask very nicely at the desk, being in the same room makes life easier for them as well. Sometimes its easier to batch them up grouped by rate rather than several separate bookings.0 -
I stayed at a Travelodge over Easter, 2 rooms, with a different booking code/price for each room for each of the 3 nights. I mentioned this when checking in and although the hotel was full there was no bother staying in the same rooms for the whole period. As previously advised suggest you just mention this on arrival.0

Hi
Thanks for the reassurances. I had planned on asking at the desk, but feel a bit more at ease if others have done this ok. We have 6 nights booked in a family room and the last night with two doubles as no family rooms left (at £30 per room, I didn't mind!). So I know we will have to move on the last day (or may get lucky and there's an empty family room for that day when we check in) but it's not too much bother for just one night.
Also, re the Hotels.com code. I got it to work ok for 3 nights at the Novotel in Manchester next month (had to pay when booking). Cheapest B&B on the hotel's website was over £90 per night, Hotels.com was £69, so with the 10% off, the total stay was £186. So less than the cost of two nights on the hotel's own website. Hi, I was avout to book a room when I could no longer find this deal on the moneysavingexpert website - has it expired?
Thanks0 -
We have just booked on line a night at the Premier Inn in Grantham.
The announced deal says a 2 night sstay is required but we got the £29 rate for 1 night only.
Perhaps they have changed the deal or its a web site error. however I have the printout proof for the booking, so as far asI am concerned that is the cost:beer:
