  • Thanks for my latest email with details of hotel sales. Just to point out that the Ibis Budget hotels are what used to be Etap, and aren't quite the same as your examples of Travelodge and Days Inn. They have a more basic feel to them. The one I stayed in had no kettle, and a conventional bed with a bunk bed over it at an angle.

But I must stress that the bed was very comfortable as was the room (although not large), so it's not a problem as long as you know the limitations, and they are excellent value for what you get. And of course, they may be refurbishing them anyway.

The next grade up is the hotels that used to be called just Ibis.

    Hi,

I tried to use the link for the Millennium Copthorne hotels sale but it doesn't re-direct - any idea?

If you are thinking of budget hotels try the Travelodge at Newcastle Gosforth. Easy access to the city by public transport/taxi, and located next to a good pub which serves real ale and reasonable food. Current price is 86 GBP for the two nights.

Saturday nights in Newcastle tends to mean pricey hotels because of the party city reputation.

Demand is too high for 'cheap' on NYE.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • Just found what appears to be a great deal if you are single, a couple, or travelling with children, and you want a cheap budget Hotel to stay in, in the centre of Liverpool.
"Accor Hotels" have a budget section, similar to that what Travelodge offers, and it's called "FORMULE 1 HOTELS".
You can get a standard family room, sleeping up to 2 adults (double bed) & 2 children (in bunk beds) for just £25 A NIGHT ! This price seems to be a standard charge, not just a limited Sale price.
For this, you'll get the usual facilities like tea/coffee maker, television, etc, BUT you may have to use shared shower/toilets, though the reviews I've read indicate that the showers/toilets are plentiful and kept scrupulously clean, plus checked regularly.
Drawbacks? You have to pay to use their Broadband WiFi, plus Car Parking is chargeable, not free (What do you expect for £25- the Hotel is in Liverpool City Centre, after all)
The "FORMULE 1 HOTEL" web-site can be found by searching for accorhotels. com and look for the hotel- Formule 1 Liverpool City Centre. (sorry, can't post exact URL address as I'm a new member)

Probably a long shot as this thread has been so quiet,
but if anyone could give their opinions on these 2 hotels i would appreciate it
    Hampton by Hilton £240
    Days Inn £145

Both prices are based on a twin room b&b (mother & daughter shopping trip)

    Thanks in advance

Hi guys, hope some of you can help. My husband and I will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary in August and would like to go on a long weekend away. Can anyone recommend any nice hotels in or around Hunstanton?

    Thanks :)
