  • Have just wasted time chasing a FAKE holiday Inns offer!

At exactly 12.01, when the offer opened, I tried to get a room under the offer, for two nights within the specified dates at one of the specified hotels and it was not available at the specified rate (£20.12 per night).

Within the next 13 minutes I had tried every single night, one night at a time, at the Hull Marina Hotel between 1st Jan and 31st Jan and the offer of £20.12 per night was not available on any single night.

WHY do they make these FAKE offers????

    Truly disgusted!!!

We're asked to be especially nice to newbies, so let me say 'welcome' and note that there is no need to use bold unnecessarily as it is considered shouting. ;)

So you had bad luck in your search? I just had quick look trying for 15 January 2012 for 1 night at Hull Marina. This is what I could choose from:
    2 SINGLE BEDS NONSMOKING

    blank_room_features.gif0001.gif
    £ 20.12 GBP
    (Includes VAT)

    1 DOUBLE BED NONSMOKING

1 DOUBLE BED WITH SOFA BED NONSMOKING

    £ 20.12 GBP

    £ 20.12 GBP

Seems OK to me. I haven't checked other dates, but perhaps you should try again - you may have been too quick off the mark for H.I.?

In any case, it is NOT a 'fake' offer. The company are selling lots of rooms at this rate in a period when many rooms would otherwise remain empty. Every little helps.

There was a similar promotion last year and I booked a dozen nights at this rate.

Just to be sure, are you using the special offer webpage as this is required to get the special rate:

    http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/gb/en/global/offers/london2012_1daysale

You probably were, but just wanted to be sure.

As Roger1 says in post # 149, you may possibly have been too fast, although no fault of your own.

I can confirm that this Holiday Inn offer, while not fake is a load of rubbish.

I stayed up late last night to catch the offer and even worse still they havdn't activated it til this morning.

When it was activated it, I checked 5 of the participating London hotels on different dates (incl New Years) can they were still full price on each date.

I'm a bit p'd off that they'd list those hotels if they're not actually participating.

With respect Icharm, although I haven't checked myself, I would not expect many London hotels (especially central) to have a heavily discounted rate on New Years Eve (I think that's what you meant?).

I did check out the Holiday Inn Mayfair (which IMHO is very nice central hotel), at random, for a night on the 22nd January and it does have the £20.12 rate available on that night. However, I fully appreciate your frustration when the offer is not available for the night(s) you want.
